Title: You are QUALIFIED!
Text: 2 Corinthians 3:1-6
Unavailable.
When God calls, why do we say No?
The greatest barrier to misnitry is not lack of opportunities, it is often an unavailable heart.
You
I'm not ready...
I'm too small...
I'm too comfortable..
God
You are QUALIFIED!
Have you ever been asked to do something, and your first response was, "I think I'm not qualified."
"You don't have to be sufficient in yourself, because your sufficiency is from me."
I. WE ARE NOT QUALIFIED IN OURSELVES
v.5 It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own.
■ We should recognize our weaknesses
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. "So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
■ We should give the credit to God
Philippians 3:3-4
"...We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us.
We put no confidence in human effort,
4 through I could have confidence in my own..."
Whatever we accomplish in ministry, we accomplish by the grace of God.
II.WE ARE QUALIFIED BY GOD
5 Our qualification comes from God.
1 Are we beginning to praise ourselves again? Are we like others, who need to bring you letters
of recommendarion, or who ask you to write such letters on their behalf? Surely not!
● Ministry is always powered by God's sufficiency.
1 Timothy 1:12-14
12 "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy..."
■ God's sufficiency doesn't mean we don't prepare.
■ God's sufficiency doesn't mean we don't excel.
III. WE ARE QUALIFIED FOR GOD'S WORK
6 He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant.
You are not qualified because...
You're
talented enough
educated enough
experiences enough
confident enough
■ Serving God is our duty. (responsibility)
When we serve the Lord, it is our duty, our responsibility.
■ Serving God should be our desire. (joy)
We must have joy in serving the Lord.
God does not call us because we are sufficient; He makes us sufficient fot the work He calls us to do.
