EVENING PRAYER
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN.
O Virgin, it is getting late,
everything falls asleep on earth,
it is the hour of rest: do not abandon me!
Put your hand on my eyes
like a good mother.
Close them gently to the things of here below My soul is tired of worries and sadness,
the fatigue that awaits me is here, close to me.
Put your hand on my forehead,
stop my thinking.
My rest will be sweet,
if blessed by you,
so that tomorrow your poor son
will wake up stronger
and cheerfully take
up the weight of the new day.
Put your hand on my heart.
May he alone always watch and give back to his God
an eternal love for him.
