New Batch of Discipleship
The seven "I Am" statements of Jesus, found in the Gospel of John, are profound declarations of His divine identity and role, identifying Him as the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Door (or Gate), the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and the True Vine, each revealing a specific aspect of how He provides spiritual sustenance, guidance, salvation, and connection to God.
Here are the seven statements with their Bible references:
"I am the bread of life." (John 6:35) – Jesus provides eternal spiritual life and satisfaction, contrasting with manna from the wilderness.
"I am the light of the world." (John 8:12) – He guides people out of spiritual darkness and offers understanding.
"I am the door (or gate)." (John 10:7, 9) – He is the sole entrance to salvation and the Kingdom of Heaven for His sheep.
"I am the good shepherd." (John 10:11, 14) – He lays down His life to care for, protect, and lead His followers.
"I am the resurrection and the life." (John 11:25) – He holds power over death, offering eternal life to believers.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6) – He is the only path to God the Father, the source of all truth, and the giver of abundant life.
"I am the true vine." (John 15:1, 5) – Believers are branches that draw life and bear fruit through their connection to Him, the source.
To God be all the Glory 🤍
