As December month begins, let us take a look at the Rationale of our upcoming Simbang Gabi 2021 with the theme "ANG PUSO NG PASKO, NAKASENTRO KAY CRISTO".

Simula nang maranasan natin ang epektong dulot ng pandemya ay nakita natin na malaki ang suliraning kinahaharap ng mundo. Ang lahat ay hindi handa sa pangyayaring ito. Hindi katulad ng ibang 𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠, ang pandemyang ito na dulot ng 𝐶𝑜𝑉𝑖𝐷-19 ay malawakan, sabay-sabay, tuluy-tuloy, at pabagu-bago ng anyo. Bunga nito, mahigit 7.7 milyong katao na sa buong mundo ang nakitil ang buhay, nadaragdagan pa, at maaaring magdulot pa ng mabibigat na suliranin sa hinaharap ng mundo. Magdadalawang taon na halos ang pandemya, at sa bawat araw na lumilipas ay patuloy ang takot at iba’t ibang suliraning kaakibat nito.

Tuwing sasapit ang Pasko, ang buong mundo ay masayang sumasalubong at nagdiriwang sa alaala ng pagsilang ng ating Panginoong Jesus. Subalit noong nakaraang Pasko ay hindi ganoon ang naging karanasan ng buong mundo pati ng ating Iglesya sapagkat nasa gitna tayo ng kalagayan ng paghihigpit dahil sa lubhang mapanganib na impeksiyon ng karamdamang dala ng 𝐶𝑜𝑉𝑖𝐷-19.

Sa ganitong kalagayan ay pumapasok ang kaisipang “Ang Pasko ba ay Pasko dahil sa kasayahang dulot nito, o ang Pasko ay Pasko dahil sa pinakapuso nito, si Cristo ang sentro? Na sa bawat Paskong sumasapit, mahalagang marinig ang itinuturo nito - sa ating puso ay naroon si Cristo”. Anuman ang kasapitan ng bawat araw, masaya o malungkot, si Cristo ay nagniningning sa ating puso sapagkat Siya ang sentro ng puso ng Pasko.

Sa ating susing talata sa MATEO 2:2 ay sinabi ang ganito; "Nagtanung-tanong sila, 'Nasaan ang isinilang na Hari ng mga Judio? Nakita namin ang kanyang bituin sa silangan at naparito kami upang sambahin siya'”.

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑎 𝑗𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑚𝑎𝑠 na inilalarawan ng paglalakbay ng tatlong pantas. Naglakbay sila sa gabay ng liwanag ng bituin sa madilim na sanlibutan patungo sa Panginoong Jesu-Cristo. 𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑗𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑦 𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑏𝑦 𝑎 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑎 𝑙𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑖𝑑𝑠𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑏𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠.

Sa papalapit na Pasko, napakainam na suriing mabuti ang nasaksihan ng mga pantas: “…Nakita namin ang kanyang bituin sa silangan at naparito kami upang sambahin siya”. Sa kanilang pagsisiyasat, napag-alaman nila na isinilang ang isang dakilang Hari at ang Kanyang bituin ay hindi maikukubli. Manatili sana sa atin ang biyaya, awa, at kapayapaang galing sa Dios Ama at sa Pangnoong Jesu-Cristo na Kanyang Anak, habang namumuhay tayo sa katotohanan at pag-ibig. -2 Juan 1:3

Basahin: 2 Juan 1:1-11
Ang Salita ng Dios (Tagalog Contemporary Bible)

1 Mula sa namumuno sa iglesya.

Mahal kong Ginang na pinili ng Dios, kasama ng iyong mga anak. Minamahal ko kayong tunay, at hindi lang ako kundi ang lahat ng nakakakilala sa katotohanan.
2 Minamahal namin kayo dahil sa katotohanang nasa atin at mananatili sa atin magpakailanman.

3 Manatili sana sa atin ang biyaya, awa, at kapayapaang galing sa Dios Ama at sa Panginoong Jesu-Cristo na kanyang Anak, habang namumuhay tayo sa katotohanan at pag-ibig.

4 Labis ang kagalakan ko nang malaman ko na ang ilan sa mga anak mo ay sumusunod sa katotohanan, ayon sa iniutos sa atin ng Dios Ama.
5 Kaya Ginang, hinihiling ko sa iyo ngayon na magmahalan tayong lahat. Hindi ito isang panibagong utos kundi ito rin ang utos na ibinigay sa atin noong una tayong sumampalataya.
6 Makikita ang pag-ibig sa atin kung namumuhay tayo ayon sa mga utos ng Dios. At ang utos niya na narinig ninyo mula nang sumampalataya kayo ay ito: mamuhay tayo nang may pag-ibig.

7 Mahalaga ito, dahil marami nang nagkalat na manlilinlang sa mundo. Ito ang mga taong hindi kumikilala na si Jesu-Cristo ay naging tao. Silaʼy mga manlilinlang at anti-Cristo.
8 Mag-ingat kayo at nang hindi mawala ang inyong pinaghirapan, sa halip ay matanggap ninyo ang buong gantimpala.

9 Ang sinumang hindi sumusunod sa aral ni Cristo o nagtuturo pa ng labis dito ay hindi pinananahanan ng Dios. Ngunit ang sinumang sumusunod sa aral ni Cristo ay pinananahanan ng Ama at ng Anak.
10 Kung may dumating man sa inyo na iba ang ipinangangaral tungkol kay Cristo, huwag nʼyo siyang tanggapin sa inyong tahanan, ni huwag nʼyo siyang batiin nang may pagpapala.
11 Sapagkat ang sinumang bumati sa kanya ng ganoon ay nakikibahagi sa masasama niyang gawain.

May hindi magandang reputasyon ang mga bahaypanuluyang pag-aari ng mga Romano noong panahon ni Jesus. Kahit ang mga gurong Judio ay hindi iiwan ang mga alaga nilang baka sa mga ito. Dahil dito, umaasa na lamang ang mga naglalakbay na nagtitiwala kay Jesus sa kabutihang loob ng kapwa nila mananampalataya para may matirahan sila.

Bukod sa mga mananampalataya, may ilan din na nangangailangan ng matutuluyan. Kabilang sa mga ito ang mga nagtuturo ng mali at "nagsasabing hindi si Jesus ang Cristo" (1 JUAN 2:22). Sinasabi sa 2 Juan na hindi dapat tanggapin ang mga ito. Ipinaliwanag din sa aklat na ito na sino mang nagtitiwala na si Jesus ang Tagapagligtas ay "pinananahanan ng Ama at Anak" (TAL. 9).

Nagpaalala muli si Juan na “kung may dumating man sa inyo na iba ang ipinangangaral tungkol kay Cristo, huwag ninyo siyang tanggapin sa inyong tahanan” (TAL. 10). Kung gagawin nila ito, parang nakikibahagi na rin sila sa kasamaan ng mga maling tagapagturo. Sa gayon, maaaring dumami lamang ang mga taong hindi magtitiwala kay Jesus.

Iba naman ang paglalarawan sa Aklat ng 2 Juan tungkol sa pag-ibig ng Dios. Handa mang tanggapin ng Dios ang lahat ng lalapit sa Kanya at patatawarin ang nagpapakumbaba sa Kanyang harapan, hindi Niya kalulugdan ang mga nagpapalaganap ng kasinungalingan na ikapapahamak ng kanilang sarili at ng ibang tao.

Ang ay isang initiative ng PKKI upang ipanalangin ang pertinent matters sa ating Iglesia at bansa. Naglalayon itong mahikayat ang mga kabataa't kapatiran na sabay-sabay manalangin tuwing alas-nuebe ng gabi, kasabay ng family altar, upang idulog ang prayer point na idudulog araw-araw.

Tunghayan ang guidelines na nasa ibaba upang masundan ang nasabing inisyatibo:

1. Ang PKKI ay magbababa ng prayer points araw-araw. Ito ang paksang ipapanalangin sa bawat araw.
2. Ang sinumang miyembro ng PKKI ay inaasahang ipagdarasal ang nasabing paksa. Ang makapaglaan ng lima hanggang sampung minuto ay malaking bagay na.
3. Sa araw-araw na ating pagdadalanginan ay lagi nating isama ang ating bansa, iglesia at mga manggagawa, at ating pamilya.

Ang ating panalangin ay gawin nating makubuluhan at ang ating pananampalataya'y bigyan ng karampatang aksyon.

THE ABC PRAYER LIST🙏🙏🙏

🙏𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦
Pray for wisdom for our national and local gov't. May the Lord bend their will in accordance to His leading.

🙏𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦
Pray that they will always be available, accessible, and affordable.

🙏𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗘
Pray that it will work to flatten the curve and come April 14, there will be no need for it.

🙏𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦
Pray that they will not be misused by the unscrupulous and will be used effectively by the ones who truly need them.

🙏𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗠𝗬
Pray for God to prepare the people who are truly the best and the brightest to guide us as the economy is already taking a heavy beating. Pray for wisdom and political will to get our economy back on track.

🙏𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦
Pray for strength physically, emotionally, mentally, and most of all spiritually starting from the first line of defense (scientists, medical and health professionals) down to those who continue to serve the community like the security guards, maintenance, grocery staff, etc.

🙏𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘
Pray for our local govt that has been tasked to oversee that the community quarantine works effectively in spite of the insurmountable obstacles.

🙏𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗦
As of this posting, several hospitals have posted about their inability to handle more cases. Pray for more people to help them carry out their duties.

🙏𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗘𝗧
Pray that this won't be disrupted and that it will be used to disseminate information that will truly help the people. No to fake news.

🙏𝗝𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖
Pray that calm and cooperation will take the place of anxiety and selfishness to make this quarantine work.

🙏𝗞-𝟭𝟮 & 𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗
Pray for the students whose studies have been disrupted. Pray for schools to have the wisdom on how to manage this disruption without sacrificing quality and standards to keep.

🙏𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗥𝗦
Pray for those whose livelihood is being threatened or may not find their job waiting for them when this is over. Pray that they will be able to find sustenance and other means of employment.

🙏𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗔
Pray that they will not be driven by scoops and political bias and be true to the tenets of journalism where it is needed now more than ever.

🙏𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘
Pray that we will win the battle against this soon.

🙏𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗨𝗥𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗦
Pray that the scattered church will remain strong and that more people will realize their need for God.

🙏𝗣𝗢𝗢𝗥
Pray for the poor who are being neglected especially those who are homeless. May they find shelter and may divine protection keep them safe.

🙏𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘
Pray for wisdom for the scientists who are seeking to find the vaccine. Pray that it will be affordable and accessible.

🙏REST
REST - Pray that your mind, body and soul will find rest in the comforting presence of God.

🙏𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧
Pray that support will be available for those who need them like financial, mental, and emotional as well as logistical support.

🙏𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗦
Pray that they will be able to find help in a foreign land.

🙏𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦
Pray for the continuous service of water and power.

🙏𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗥𝗦
Pray that more will rise and blessings of strength and protection for those that are already serving.

Pray that they will be true to their mandate and give us the right information at the right time.

🙏𝗫 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗢𝗘𝗦
Pray that they never tire to continue serving and helping away from the glare of media. May they know that God will reward them accordingly.

No need to be a martyr and neglect your own needs in the service of others.

Pray that a day of zero cases will lead to another and another and another until soon, this is behind us.

"Kay Ligaya Kung Ako'y Naglilingkod"

OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES

The National Council of Churches in the Philippines would like to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and church mates of Dr. Israel Bactol who had been in the frontline in the battle against COVID19. Dr. Bactol is a son of Pastor Romy and Deaconess Cely Bactol of the IEMELIF Church, an NCCP member church. The Bactol family are leaders in Penaranda IEMELIF Church in Nueva Ecija. Dr. IB, as he is fondly called, was 34 years old. He was a bright and dedicated student and he graduated on a scholarship. He finished college and medical school at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

As a pastor’s kid, Dr. IB has accompanied his parents to the congregations that their Bishop has assigned them. Church members attest to his helpful presence and support to the congregations where his parents were assigned. We mourn his untimely demise, and accord him the honor that befits a martyr. We can only imagine the number of lives he could have made better with his talent and dedication.

His body was cremated and the ashes were brought to their home in Penaranda, Nueva Ecija.

We also mourn the lives of other frontliners like Dr. Greg Macasaet, Dr. Rose Pulido and Dr. Raul Diaz Jara, and we offer this prayer to them and other doctors, nurses and medical staff who are doing their best to contain this pandemic.

O Lord, the Healer of nations and lands,
Hear, O Lord, the lamentations of your people
“Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored!
Renew our days as of old—
unless you have utterly rejected us,
and you remain exceedingly angry with us.” (Lamentations 5:21-22)

We, in our greed and lack of regard and concern for others and for your creation,
in our selfishness and our wanton craving for wealth and power,
in the finiteness of our minds and the shortsightedness of our souls,
confess our sins, and plead for your mercies:
Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored.
In the battle against this unseen and destructive enemy
are those who stood and are still standing in the frontlines,
putting themselves at peril and risks
for the sake of others
in need of healing
in need of strength
in need of wholeness.

We pray for these frontliners,
who have unselfishly laid their lives
so that others may live:
the doctors, the nurses, the medical technologists
all in the allied health professions,
including the orderlies, the janitors, the ambulance drivers
that you may strengthen them in mind, body and soul
that you fortify them with your strength
that you embrace them with your love
and protect them under the shelter of your wings.
Be with their families, extend your covering upon them.

For those who have already sacrificed to the point of death,
may you take them unto your bosom
and eternal rest grant to them
comfort their families
give them strength in their sorrow
and assuage their grief.

May those who govern seek not emergency power,
but use wisely the power and the billions already at their command
so that other frontliners may not suffer the same fate
but be protected from unnecessary danger and harm.

Hear our prayer, O Lord, and incline your ear to us:
that once more, we will utter in worship:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. God’s mercies never come
to an end.
They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness (Lament. 3:22-23).

In the name of Jesus, who laid his life that we may live. Amen.
