The Welcome Meeting held on August 16, 2026, at Kakisa II, Bacong, Negros Oriental, welcomed all the student saints as we begin a new academic year. Through the fellowship from Preaching the Gospel on the College Campuses, the burden was released concerning the proper attitude we should have toward the campuses and toward the people we meet there.

May the Lord preserve all the student saints throughout this new academic year and cause us to be proper vessels for the preaching of the gospel on our campuses—holding firmly to the truth while exercising a universal love toward everyone.

Have you ever felt like God seemed far away and out of reach, even after you were saved?

Over the course of our Christian life, we sometimes experience the Lord’s presence with us in a clear and definite way. Maybe we’re in a difficult situation and when we pray to the Lord, He feels so near. But after the crisis passes, it seems like that experience of His presence was a mysterious, even accidental occurrence—like we were stumbling around in a dark room, inadvertently hit a light switch, and the lights came on.

As believers in Jesus, we long to know Him and be close to Him. Here’s the good news: the Lord wants that too. He wants us to experience Him intentionally, not accidentally. He wants us to enjoy His presence every day, not just occasionally or only when we have a pressing need. But how can we regularly and consistently experience Him if we feel like He’s so far away?

When you pick up this issue of A&C and glance at its title “Eternal Life,” what is the first thing that comes to mind? We suspect that you, like most of us, think of life in eternity, a life of bliss with God in the hereafter. Religion and culture have predisposed us to that notion. Of course, it is not completely wrong, because our Christian hope is indeed to dwell and even reign with God in eternity future. The Bible tells us so (Rev. 22:4-5). It is comforting to think about. But there is much more to eternal life according to the revelation in the Bible. In this issue of A&C we dive into the “much more” of eternal life in the Bible (Rom. 5:10).

We need to be poor in spirit, emptied and unloaded in our human spirit, so that we may realise and possess the kingdom of the heavens; this means we need to be humble, acknowledging that we have nothing, know nothing, can do nothing, and are nothing, so we need the Lord’s filling desperately.
