This is a special church-based charity project which aims to raise fund for the repair of St Roche Catholic Church of Sanchez Mira roofing and other needed renovations.

UNANG KASO NG ASF SA CAGAYAN NGAYONG 2025, NAITALA SA BAYAN NG SANCHEZ MIRA AYON SA PVET

Naitala sa Centro 2, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan ang kauna-uanahang kaso ng African Swine Fever (ASF) ngayong 2025 ayon sa Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET) ng Provincial Government of Cagayan (PGC).

Ayon kay Dr. Noli Buen, Provincial Veterinarian ng PGC, nagmula sa isang hog raiser na may alagang apat na baboy ang pinagmulan ng virus na ASF sa naturang lugar matapos na mamatay ang dalawang baboy nito nitong nakaraang Agosto 13, 2025.

Agad umano itong ipinarating ng isang technician ng PVET sa Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) ng Sanchez Mira kung saan ay agad na nagsagawa ng blood sample sa dalawa pang baboy ng magsasaka sa lugar.

Dagdag pa ni Dr. Buen na positibo sa ASF ang mga baboy base sa ulat ng Regional Animal Diseases Diagnostic Laboratory (RADDL) sa Tuguegarao City.

Bunsod nito ay isasagawa bukas, Agosto-21 ng MAO Sanchez Mira ang monitoring at surveillance sa mga baboy sa mga karatig na barangay ng Centro 2 upang masiguro at makontrol ang posibleng pagkalat ng virus. Ito ay sa kabila umano na isolated o malayo ang lugar sa iba pang may mga alagang baboy.

“Matagal na walang kaso ng ASF ang lugar, siguro noong 2021 pa at ngayon ulit kaya’t hindi malinaw kung saan nagmula ang virus. Ang kabutihan nito ay agaran din ang koordinasyon natin sa MAO at aksyon ng LGU Sanches Mira,” ani Dr. Buen.

Dahil dito ay naglabas na rin ng kautusan ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Sanchez Mira na nagbabawal sa pagpasok ng mga trader at technician, maging ang paglabas ng buhay na baboy, karne ng baboy, maging ang mga produktong baboy tulad ng longganisa, tocino, hamon, at iba pang processed meat mula sa baboy sa kanilang bayan.

Samantala, naglabas rin ng kautusan si Pamplona Mayor Digna Antonio na nagbabawal sa pagpasok ng buhay na baboy, karne ng baboy, at mga produktong gawa sa karne ng baboy na mula sa mga karatig na bayan partikular sa Sanchez Mira upang makaiwas sa posibleng pagpasok ng sakit ng baboy na ASF. Ito ay bilang pag-iingat umano sa indusytriya ng baboy sa Pamplona. (Susan L. Mapa)

A Call for Unity and Compassion

Our beloved fellow Sanchez Miranians, we call on your compassionate hearts to help our “kailians” in the aftermath of typhoon Marce, one of the worst that ever hit our town.

Our very own families may have been affected as well. But there are others who may not have the immediate means to recover from the ruins.

Sangsangkamaysa, Sanchez Mira: Typhoon Marce Relief Ops has just been organized to mobilize support for a relief operations targeting the worst hit and the most affected families, specially in the depressed areas.
