During the recently held 1st Sancti Pauli Media Awards at the Diocesan Social Communications (SocCom) Assembly, the Commission on Social Communications of Santo Sepulcro Parish (Ssp SocCom) was recognized with four prestigious awards for its excellence and creativity in using digital media as a platform for evangelization.
Among the awards received were Best Shrine page (Lolo Uweng Shrine), Best Organizational page Award (Lolo Uweng Media), and Social Media Excellence (Sto. Sepulcro Parish). Rev. Fr. Rafael C. Malaborbor was also named Clergy Communicator of the Year during the event, a recognition that highlights his effective evangelization efforts, strengthened by SSP SocComโs creative approach to content creation and digital communication.
In his thanksgiving speech, Nathaniel Limosa expressed gratitude, saying that the award is not only an achievement for the ministry but, more importantly, an inspiration to continue using social media and digital platforms as instruments of evangelization. Meanwhile, on receiving the fourth award, Allen Remoquillo reflected that while their mission has never been about personal recognition, he is thankful that their quiet efforts are being acknowledged and valued.
The ministry dedicated the recognition to the millions of devotees of Lolo Uweng, church volunteers, and members who continuously support the mission of the shrine. The awards highlighted not only the ministryโs efforts in creating content for Lolo Uweng, but also the dedication of every SocCom member in serving Christ and spreading the Good News.
These recent achievements add to the ministryโs growing list of recognitions, including the Parish Social Media Impact Award during the Catholic Social Media Awards 2024 and Best Parish Website Award in 2023, underscoring their steadfast commitment to excellence in their craft.
In her thanksgiving speech, Julie Melindo shared a reminder that calls SocCom members to remember their purpose: โIn this digital age, communicators are not meant to be viralโthey are vital.โ
Viva Lolo Uweng!
