Not only one but four of our young people received their own diplomas this year. How wonderful it is to watch them wearing these togas and the smiles they have in their faces as they rejoice to have passed and go up to the stage to get the accomplishment award for years they have toiled to finish. In their testimonies,all of them attested how God has been good and faithful through the challenges of school life for "without Him,they are nothing." Indeed, the victories and rewards are all from God’s amazing grace and mercy. Your AGEN family will always celebrate with you Moses Arches Miguel Ian Estrellanes Felicity Joy Dionela Tabianan Gwen Aguilar. Prevailing Faith

Romans 4:18-25
18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”[a] 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” 23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Continuing our study of conquering faith, what other elements will be present?

Confession of Faith. David declared, “I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts” (1 Samuel 17:45) and stated his trust in God’s deliverance. Whenever we face difficulties, we, too, must proclaim our faith, expressing thanks to the Lord for who He is, who we are in Christ, and what we have through His Spirit.

Reliance on God’s power. Not once did David claim that he was going to defeat the enemy. He pointed out that the battle was the Lord’s; it was by the Almighty’s power that victory would be obtained. In the hand of God’s servant, a simple stone was mightier than the weapons of the Philistine army.

Assumption of Victory.Prevailing faith reckons the victory before battle even begins. When the young shepherd looked at Goliath, he saw him as a dead man. In fact, because of David’s relationship with the Lord, he understood that all giants— whether bears, lions or Goliaths—were the same. How does this “reckoning” take place? First, we fight the “battle before the battle.” Through prayer and meditation on Scripture, we work through any uncertainties and fears. We reaffirm in our heart that this is the Lord’s battle, declare He has won the victory, and wait for His timing. When we act, we do it God’s way, with trust in His presence and provision.

For what area of your life do you need prevailing faith? Approach the throne of grace with faith to receive what you need. (Hebrews 4:16,Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.)

Fully Alive

Colossians 2:9-17
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. 11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh[a] was put off when you were circumcised by[b] Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you[c] alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

When you hear the phrase “freedom in Christ,” what comes to mind? As we go to God, He gives us freedom from sin–both its guilt and penalty.

For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin (Romans 6:5-7)

Some Christians don’t feel free because the guilt in their lives is so strong. But this guilt is not from the Lord; it’s self-inflicted.

When Jesus hung on the cross for the sins of the world–past, present, and future–sin was atoned. As Christians, we are no longer guilty.

Peter writes: “[Jesus] Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).

Jesus’ death paid the penalty for our sins. If we truly believe what the Bible says, guilt will no longer enslave us.

When we forget what our position is in Christ, we heap guilt on ourselves. If we don’t understand that our position is constant–no matter what we’ve done, good or bad–then guilt disappears.

Softening Your Heart

Psalms 25
1 In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust.

2 I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.

will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.

4 Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;

9 He guides the humble in what is right

and how fiercely they hate me!

do not let me be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope, Lord,[c] is in you.

22 Deliver Israel, O God,
from all their troubles!

When you are continually on your face before God, seeking Him in His Word, His presence will saturate your heart and make it sensitive and teachable. Just as a marriage relationship can grow cold unless proactive steps are taken daily to keep it warm, your heart can gradually harden when you aren’t seeking intimacy with God. You must also put into action whatever He tells you to do so that your heart will stay soft. Then it won’t take much for the Lord to get your attention, and when He convicts you of sin, you will want to deal with it right away. This is why we must walk in the Spirit moment by moment.

If you believe that God might be leading you in a certain direction, take the time to earnestly seek His mind on the matter, and open your heart to listen to Him. Be careful about getting busy with a substitute for what He originally called you to do. It would be tragic to work extra hard doing what you and others consider good, only to discover your effort was expended accomplishing something that was not God’s intention. Resisting the Lord’s will often amounts to putting your life on the shelf, which leaves you feeling that something is missing. There is no substitute for God’s will, even when His plan might seem difficult or impossible. But when you trust Him with a willing heart, there is no limit to what God can do through your life. Step out in obedience and say, “Lord, I want Your will no matter what.”

A Second Chance at Heaven?

Hebrews 9:24-28
24 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. 25 Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. 26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

People fall prey to unbiblical ideas and doctrine when they do not read the Word and evaluate the ideas they hear against God’s truth. Consequently, two popular misconceptions have arisen about life after death. First, some folks believe everyone will get to heaven one way or another. A person will argue that the Bible says God wants everyone to be saved. (1 Timothy 2:3-5, This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
2 Peter 3:9,The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.) Yes, He does. But He does not say everyone will be saved. We are each given an opportunity to choose Jesus Christ as our Savior in this life, but God will not force us to receive Him.

Our eternal home is set before we die. Upon our earthly death, we will either enter the presence of the Lord or be condemned to separation from Him. There is no middle ground between the two. In the afterlife, those who choose God are separated from those who reject Him. (Luke 16:26;And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ Matthew 25:31-46, ) The people who trust a second false doctrine—purgatory—ignore this truth from the Bible. Purgatory is imagined as a holding cell where souls are tormented for earthly sins before being released into heaven.

Many people believe in a place between heaven and hell without realizing what an insult that concept is to God. If we argue that we must suffer for our own wrongdoing, we are saying Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross was insufficient to pay our sin-debt. This idea violates the most important doctrine in God’s Word. But if we are committed to studying the Bible and carefully evaluating what we hear, we will not be swayed by false ideologies.
