“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
In this message, we learn that the certainty of future grace fuels present community labor. Paul’s “therefore” isn’t a call to relax—it’s a call to lean in. When pressure, grief, and busyness try to isolate us, God commands the opposite: pull close.
🔨 Two verbs that change everything:
• Parakaleite – come alongside. Encouragement requires proximity.
• Oikodomeite – build a house. Small, daily words of truth and love.
⚠️ Encouragement is NOT flattery, toxic positivity, or silence. Sometimes it’s a hard word that pulls someone back from a cliff.
❓ Ask yourself each night: Whom did I encourage today? If the answer is “no one,” we’ve disobeyed a command of Christ.
🏗️ You can’t give what you haven’t received. Look to Jesus—the ultimate Builder. He took our destruction so we could become living stones in His unshakable house.
This week: find one person. Speak one true, kind, strengthening word. Send the text. Make the call.
In building others, you will be built.
Soli Deo gloria.
