📖 THE AWAKENING
Acts 2:38–39
From Sleeping to Shepherding

Makikita natin na ang pagbagsak ni Peter ay hindi nangyari sa isang iglap. Nagsimula ito sa paulit-ulit niyang pagtulog habang nananalangin si Jesus (Mark 14:40), na nagpapakita ng kakulangan sa espirituwal na pagbabantay. Nang tanungin siya ni Jesus, wala rin siyang maisagot (Mark 14:40b). Minsan, kapag alam nating nagkamali tayo sa Diyos, mas pinipili nating manahimik kaysa lumapit at humingi ng tawad.

Pagkatapos nito, padalos-dalos na kumilos si Peter at hinugot ang kanyang espada (John 18:10). Maganda man ang intensyon niyang ipagtanggol si Jesus, mali pa rin ang paraan dahil hindi iyon ang kalooban ng Diyos. At sa huli, dahil sa takot, tatlong beses niyang itinanggi ang Panginoon (Matthew 26:75). Dito natin makikita na kapag hindi tayo espirituwal na gising, madali tayong matalo ng emosyon, takot, at sariling lakas.

Pero hindi doon nagtapos ang kuwento ni Peter. Ang taong paulit-ulit na bumagsak ay siya ring ibinalik, pinatawad, at ginamit ng Diyos upang mangaral sa Acts 2:38–39. Ang dating natutulog sa calling ay naging pastol ng maraming kaluluwa. Kaya ang mensahe sa atin ngayon ay ito: ang failure ay hindi ang katapusan kapag may tunay na pagsisisi. Kayang baguhin ng Diyos ang ating mga pagkukulang at gamitin ang ating buhay para sa Kanyang layunin at kaluwalhatian.

Scripture: Mark 14:37–38
"Then He returned to His disciples and found them sleeping. 'Simon,' He said to Peter, 'Are you asleep? Couldn't you keep watch for one hour? Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

When Jesus found His disciples sleeping, He didn't say, "You failures." He called Peter by his old name, Simon. It wasn't because Jesus forgot who Peter had become. It was because, at that moment, Peter was acting like the man he used to be instead of the man God was shaping him to become.

Sometimes, we are the same.

We pray, we worship, we serve in church, yet there are moments when we become spiritually asleep. We stop guarding our hearts. We become comfortable. We tell ourselves sometimes "I'll pray later" "I'll read my Bible tomorrow" or "I'm okay even if I'm distant from God." Without realizing it, we're slowly returning to old attitudes, old habits, and old ways of thinking.

So today, let's answer His wake-up call. Let's stop sleeping through our spiritual lives and start watching, praying, and walking closely with Christ again. Because the greatest danger is not making mistakes, it's becoming spiritually asleep and not realizing it.

"Lord, keep my heart awake. Let me not drift back to who I was, but help me become the person You created me to be." Amen.

We're so thankful to God for your life. It's amazing to see how far you've come, from being one of the kids in our feeding program to becoming one of the longest-serving members of LJHOW Sta. Monica. Your journey is truly a reminder of God's faithfulness.

GOD IS LOVE
"Where God is, Love Lives."
📖 1 John 4:16

Last Sunday, we were reminded by our speaker Aleister Palomado that one of the greatest truths in the Bible: God is love. His love is not based on our achievements, our failures, or our past. It is constant, faithful, and available to everyone who chooses to come to Him.

When we truly know God's love, it changes the way we live. We learn to forgive, to show compassion, to extend grace, and to love others just as Christ first loved us. In a world filled with hurt and uncertainty, His love remains our greatest hope and our firm foundation.

May this message encourage us to remain in His love every day and become a reflection of His goodness to the people around us.

"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." 1 John 4:16

While the world often labels young people by their struggles, God sees them differently. Through His Word, He reminds us that we are chosen, loved, forgiven, and created with a purpose. No matter what crisis we face, Christ offers hope, strength, and a firm foundation.

✨ Key Lessons with Verses

🔹 Choose Peace Over Conflict
Bullying and violence may be common, but God calls us to be peacemakers who respond with love instead of revenge.
Verse: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

🔹 God Is Near in Our Struggles
When we feel overwhelmed, anxious, or alone, God is close to the brokenhearted and faithfully strengthens those who trust in Him.
