The center embroidery of the chasuble was done in gold-colored thread of two shades. Gold in Christian iconography is symbolic of the Divine. Its design is the outline of a Cross, with its four arms of equal length, all of which terminate in curves.

The Cross is superimposed on a quatrefoil frame, and within the outline are vine-like motifs with acanthus leaves. The vines intertwine, forming the image of a fish - Ichthus - a symbol of Christ.

Where the arms of the Cross intersect in the middle is the IHS Christogram encircled with a gold line, made to look like a Consecrated Host. It is intended to emphasize the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, being the central tenet of the Faith. The Christogram is stylized to match the overall embroidery motif.
