Fifty days after the Resurrection of Christ, the Church rejoices in the great gift of Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary gathered in prayer in the Upper Room. With the sound of a mighty wind and tongues of fire resting upon them, fear was transformed into courage, silence into proclamation, and ordinary men into faithful witnesses of the Gospel.

Pentecost is not simply a remembrance of a past event; it is the living reminder that the Holy Spirit continues to move within the Church today. The same Spirit who strengthened Peter to preach, who united people of different languages and nations, and who brought thousands into the faith, continues to renew our hearts and guide us in truth, holiness, and mission.

As we celebrate the โ€œBirthday of the Church,โ€ may we allow the Holy Spirit to rekindle within us the fire of faith, the zeal to serve, and the courage to become instruments of Godโ€™s love in the world. In a time marked by division, fear, and uncertainty, may the Spirit teach us once more to speak the language of charity, compassion, and unity.

Come, Holy Spirit, breathe new life into Your people. Fill our hearts with Your grace, renew the face of the earth, and lead us ever closer to Christ.

Veni Sancte Spiritus!

May 15 | SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR

When he was barely old enough to wield a hoe, Isidore entered the service of John de Vergas, a wealthy landowner from Madrid, and worked faithfully on his estate outside the city for the rest of his life. He married a young woman as simple and upright as himself who also became a saint-Maria de la Cabeza. They had one son, who died as a child.

Isidore had deep religious instincts. He rose early in the morning to go to church and spent many a holiday devoutly visiting the churches of Madrid and surrounding areas. All day long, as he walked behind the plow, he communed with God. His devotion, one might say, became a problem, for his fellow workers sometimes complained that he often showed up late because of lingering in church too long.

He was known for his love of the poor, and there are accounts of Isidore's supplying them miraculously with food. He had a great concern for the proper treatment of animals.

He died May 15, 1130, and was declared a saint in 1622 with Ignatius of Loyola, Francis Xavier, Teresa of Avila and Philip Neri. Together, the group is known in Spain as "the five saints."

In our Parish we have various Chapels dedicated in honor of San Isidro Labrador and since our town is mostly ricefields and common work is agriculture and farming we have also Baranggays who honor San Isidro Labrador.

In 1917, against the bloody backdrop of World War I, three shepherd children, namely, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, in the fields of Portugal reported seeing a "Lady more brilliant than the Sun." This wasn't just a quiet spiritual encounter; it culminated in the "Miracle of the Sun," where 70,000 witnesses saw the sun spin and dance, drying a rain-soaked landscape in minutes. The Lady delivered three cryptic "secrets"โ€”prophecies involving hell, world wars, and the rise of Russiaโ€”warning that without a shift in human consciousness and a return to prayer, the world would face self-inflicted catastrophes.Today, Fรกtimaโ€™s message feels less like a historical footnote and more like a modern-day urgent transmission. In an era defined by digital noise and "post-truth" confusion, the call for radical inner peace and the daily Rosary serves as a powerful anchor. It suggests that the geopolitical fate of the world is tied to the quiet, individual choices of ordinary people. By shifting the focus from external power struggles to internal conversion, Fรกtima remains a provocative reminder that prayer is a revolutionary act capable of altering the course of history when everything else seems to be falling apart.

O God, shepherd and ruler of all the faithful,
look favorably on your servant Leo,
whom you have set at the head of your Church as her shepherd;
grant, we pray, that by word and example
he may be of service to those over whom he presides
so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care,
he may come to everlasting life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever. Amen.

๐—ข๐—ก ๐—ง๐—›๐—œ๐—ฆ ๐——๐—”๐—ฌ | During the Jubilee Year of Hope in 2025, following the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, the College of Cardinals elected Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost, OSA, then Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, as the new Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church. Upon his election, he chose the papal name Leo XIV, signifying continuity with tradition and a renewed commitment to shepherding the faithful in hope and unity.

Let us pray for our Holy Father for years to come, guiding and leading the church.

Newly blessed Statue of St. Joseph husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and foster-father of our Lord. The Statue is located at the right side of the Church Compound. It is donated by the late Paz Viรฑas Gam, a faithful devotee of St. Joseph. It was blessed during the day of her Internment which indeed is a great reminder for us of St. Joseph being our guardian and solace at the hour of death since he is renowned as the Patron of a Happy Death.
