Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de Aránzazu We are group of laymen in Aranzazu Shrine responsible for the material care of our patroness image. Reynaldo Balcos and the guidance of Msgr.

On 7 February 1993, with the persistent effort of Mr. Arnel Lagarejos, the Cofradia de Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu was established. During the installation, Mrs. Dolores Santos was appointed as the first president. The Cofradia de Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu advocated and spearheaded the propagation of the devotion to Nuestra Senora

de Aranzazu primarily the preparation of documents for the petition of Episcopal and Canonical Coronation. The group spearheaded, during the year of its reestablishment, the following activities: a Grand procession in honor of Ntra Sra de Aranzazu on her feast day, 9 September 1993; the visit of the Virgin of Aranzazu to the different schools and chapels under the parish before her feast day; the historical visit of Our Lady to the “Little San Mateo” in Sampaloc, Manila on 4 December 1993; the participation of the Virgin in the Intramuros Grand Marian Procession, for the first time, on 4 December 1993; and the commemoration of the apparition of Ntra Sra de Aranzazu on 4 June 1994 (the date of apparition is on 11 June 1469), together with the handling out of prayer cards (estampitas) to the faithful. The Association of Our Lady of Aranzazu started way back year 2001 under a different name. Its formal foundation was 1 January 2005 with initial twenty-five women coming from the defunct Sons and daughters of Mary, Msgr Mariano Balbago Jr. serves as the Spiritual Director at that time. The Founding officers of the Association were: Aida A. Salvador, Leilanie D. Sanchez, Ria Esquivel-Jacob, and Fermina Apuya. May 2014, the name “Association of Our Lady of Aranzazu” was changed into COFRADIA DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE ARANZAZU. It was amended unanimously by the members of the organization. This Confraternity held its regular monthly meeting every first Saturday of each month and aims to formulate and carry out various activities for the patroness of the town of San Mateo, Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu, towards the growth of those who offer their prayers and intentions to her.

MABUHAY ANG BIRHEN NG ARANZAZU ✨

Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu, ipanalangin mo kami.

Ave, Ave, Viva la Virgen! 🍎

Ngayong araw, ginugunita natin ang ika-9 na anibersaryo ng Pontifical Coronation ng Mahal na Birhen ng Bayang San Mateo — Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu, na ginanap noong Mayo 31, 2017.

Sa ngalan ni Kaniyang Kabanalan Papa Francisco, ipinagkaloob ang koronang ginto sa ating Mahal na Ina sa pamamagitan ng Kanyang Kabunyian, Orlando Cardinal Quevedo, OMI. Ang dakilang pagkilalang ito mula sa Simbahang Katolika ay tanda ng pagkilala sa mahigit tatlong siglo ng matatag at masiglang debosyon ng mga tiga San Mateo sa Mahal na Birhen ng Aranzazu.

Higit pa sa isang makasaysayang seremonya, ang Pontifical Coronation ay nananatiling buhay na paalala ng pananampalatayang ipinamana ng ating mga ninuno, ng walang sawang pagtitiwala ng bayan sa mapagkalingang Ina ng Aranzazu, at ng biyayang ipinagkaloob ng Diyos sa ating pamayanan sa pamamagitan Niya.

Sa paglipas ng siyam na taon, patuloy nating nasasaksihan ang kanyang paggabay at pagkalinga sa ating mga pamilya, sa ating parokya, at sa buong sambayanan. Nawa’y manatili tayong tapat sa ating debosyon at patuloy na lumago sa pag-ibig sa Diyos sa ilalim ng kanyang maka-inang pag-aaruga.

Our Lady of Aranzazu, pray for us. 🍎🙏

In these times marked by conflict, uncertainty, and division among nations, our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, calls upon the faithful throughout the world to unite in prayer through the Holy Rosary, entrusting humanity to the loving care of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Responding to this invitation of the Universal Church, the National Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Aranzazu will join the “Rosary for Peace with Pope Leo XIV” on May 31, 2026 at 1:00 AM (Philippine Time), in spiritual communion with the Vatican and Marian shrines across the globe.

We warmly invite all parishioners, devotees, and the faithful to gather at the National Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Aranzazu as one community of prayer, entrusting to the Lord — through the intercession of Our Lady of Aranzazu — our petitions for peace among nations, healing for the suffering, comfort for the afflicted, and hope for the entire world.

May this sacred gathering in prayer remind us that amid darkness and unrest, the Blessed Mother continually leads us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ — the true source of peace, unity, and hope.
