Choose Humility Over Pride

Sometimes, love can be misunderstood. What was meant as care, concern, and guidance may be received as criticism. In moments like this, pride can quietly enter the heart and make us defensive instead of teachable.

The Bible says:

“Pride leads to destruction, and arrogance to downfall.”
— Book of Proverbs 16:18

A humble heart listens before reacting. It understands that reminders and counsel are not always attacks, but sometimes expressions of love and concern. Pride says, “I already know.” Humility says, “I’m willing to listen.”

In relationships and family, the goal should never be proving who is right, but doing what is best with love, unity, and wisdom.

May we learn to guard our hearts from pride and choose humility, patience, and understanding instead.
