A tomb opened—and heaven answered with a fragrance no earth could explain.

May 24 marks the Translation of the Relics of our Holy Father, Saint Dominic (A.D. 1233). Hidden in humility during his life, he remained so even in death—buried beneath a simple stone at the feet of his brethren. No honors sought, no displays permitted.

But God would not let His servant remain hidden forever.

When the tomb was opened during the General Chapter in Bologna, a mysterious and overwhelming fragrance filled the entire church—sweet, rich, unmistakably heavenly. As the coffin was raised, tears flowed, hearts trembled, and faith was strengthened. The signs did not end there: the blind saw, the lame walked, the paralyzed leapt for joy.

This was no ordinary remembrance. It was a revelation: holiness cannot be concealed.

Saint Dominic, who spent his life preaching truth and saving souls, continues even in death to draw hearts to Christ. His silence speaks. His relics preach. His life still bears fruit.

Prayer:
O God, who enlightened Your Church through the merits and teachings of Saint Dominic, grant through his intercession that we may never lack what we need in this life and may grow ever stronger in faith, truth, and holiness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

You cannot separate the Rosary from Mary. The Rosary is Marian in character and yet, at heart, Christocentric.

The Rosary is both meditation and supplication. It trains the heart to contemplate Christ's mysteries with Mary, and to seek graces through her maternal intercession. Mary shows us how: she treasured Christ's words and pondered them in her heart.

So pray the Rosary with confidence and perseverance, because this prayer is grounded in the belief that Mary's intercession can obtain all things from the heart of her Son.

FRIDAY DEVOTION TO THE PASSION OF CHRIST
(Santuario del Sto. Cristo, San Juan, Metro Manila)

"We should always contemplate the crucifix with love because it is a testimony of God's love for us.... We should accustom ourselves to look at the crucifix with love and in such a way that our faith and trust is very much more than the terrible way of His death. True, it is an image with blood, but the blood of the cross is very sweet and fragrant. It is not like the human blood of criminals that cry for vengeance. It is Divine Blood that asks and reaches for mercy and salvation." - Fr. Eladio Neira, OP (Christian Perfection for the Dominican Laity, Book II)

A rose among thorns… and hope for the impossible.

Saint Rita of Cascia lived hidden in suffering, yet radiant in faith—patient in trials, faithful to the Cross, and an advocate for desperate cases.

She shows that holiness is not found in ease, but in endurance united to Jesus Christ. What seemed impossible in her life became a path of grace.

Through her intercession, ask not only for solutions, but for the wisdom and strength of the Cross—to carry what is hard, to trust when it hurts, and to remain faithful in love.

In Christ, suffering is not wasted—it can be offered, transformed, and made redemptive in Him.

20/05/2026

After her husband was murdered, Saint Rita of Cascia refused to let hatred win.
She hid the bloodied shirt, forgave the killer, and prayed that her twin sons would not commit revenge.

This is what real forgiveness looks like: not weakness—but surrender to God’s justice over our own.

A dove at her baptism—and a life set entirely for Christ.

From the moment a white dove hovered over her as an infant, Blessed Columba of Rieti was marked for a life of extraordinary holiness. Drawn early to prayer and sacrifice, she chose to belong wholly to Christ, even when it meant resisting family pressure and enduring misunderstanding.

Guided by the spirit of Saint Dominic and inspired by Saint Catherine of Siena, she embraced a life of deep prayer, penance, and charity. Her holiness became a light to many—so much so that even Pope Alexander VI sought to examine her life and found it worthy.

In times of plague, she offered herself for others. In suffering, she remained gentle. In all things, she loved Christ most—especially in His Cross.

Her life reminds us: true love of God is not comfortable, but it is beautiful, faithful, and fruitful.

Prayer:
Lord God, You gave Blessed Columba a pure heart and a steadfast love for You. Help us to seek You above all things, to remain faithful in trials, and to love You even in suffering. Through her prayers, make our hearts sincere and our lives pleasing to You. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Name that saves is the Name we forget to honor.

On the Memorial of St. Bernardine of Siena (May 20), we’re reminded that holiness begins in the ordinary—how we think, speak, and act.

St. Bernardine’s mission centered on the Holy Name of Jesus, because to invoke Jesus is to call on Him who saves—not a mere word, but a living Person.

Let your life speak the Name you profess.
Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

O Lumen Ecclesiae: A Prayer in Honor of Saint Dominic

Within the tradition of the Order of Preachers, the hymn O Lumen Ecclesiae stands as a solemn tribute to St. Dominic de Guzmán, recognized as a light of the Church and a faithful teacher of truth. Recited or sung in Dominican communities, this prayer expresses both veneration and supplication, uniting the faithful to the spiritual legacy of their holy founder.

In its verses, the Church contemplates the virtues that adorned St. Dominic—his patience, purity, and wisdom poured out for the salvation of souls. The invocation Praedicator gratiae recalls his enduring mission as a preacher of grace, while the concluding prayer entrusts the faithful to his powerful intercession.

St. Dominic, Light of the Church, pray for us.
