I was talking to the Lord in prayer, and it became an open dialogue between me and God. This prayer time became a one-way conversation, and it's not me who's talking. God poured out his presence and his thoughts overflowed into my mind. And His words were, "Paul, you've been living your life about you—trying to satisfy the requirements of your existence when in fact you are supposed to live for me. I am the cause of life, and I am the life itself. What benefit does it give you if you gain everything but me?"

I don't usually post things on Facebook, but I think someone should hear the same words that the Lord told me. Life isn't as complicated as we thought it was. A life of surrender means taking the controls off of your hands and giving it to its rightful owner—to God.

Kamusta ka na ba sa Lord ngayon?

When I decided to give my life to Christ, my life was transformed completely. I've loved Jesus so much that I'd read my Bible everyday and talk to God regularly. I made sure to know the details of every story and apply the principles that I learn from his words. I got to see miracles in my own eyes. I believed that I could do everything as a new believer. But time isn't always a believer's friend. Years have passed and my love has turned colder.

How's my relationship with God from the very hour I first believed?

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38‭-‬39 ASV

One of the greatest obstacles that I have right now is to think that my coldness has made a distance between me and God that is enough for me not to experience the warmth of his love that I used to know 15 years ago. But this thinking is far from the truth. The love of God that I used to know hasn't changed a bit. Jesus Christ loves me the same and he never changed his mind at me. If great powers can't separate me from his love, how can I?

"Gusto kong magbago pero di ko magawa!"

This is my statement whenever I found myself talking to God for the same sin I have asked him to forgive a few hours earlier. I understand that everyone is a work in progress, but having a habitual sin or a godless behavior is something that will make you doubt about yourself, right? But hear me out. The fact that you are aware and being bothered of the things that grieves the Lord means you are already at your first step towards seeing a better version of yourself in the Lord.

"Thy word have I laid up in my heart, That I might not sin against thee."

Whatever we eat determines our health, whatever we feed our minds on determines our desires. In order to see some changes in our lives, we have to assess the things we allowed our thoughts to eat. If we want to stop grieving the Lord and start pleasing him, then we need to feed on something that helps us understand what grieves him and what pleases him, and that is none other than his words. Reading and meditating on the word of God will train and condition our minds to the changes that God wants us to see in ourselves.

Serving the Lord doesn't mean we are exempted from the problems and challenges that this world has to offer, in fact, the moment that we decided to follow Jesus, we are signing up for more. The LORD did not promised an easy life for his chosen people, instead, he ordained us to be stronger than whatever the devil has made to destroy us. We are indestructible because the Lord says so, therefore, we are unstoppable, his chosen people are destined to be immovable.

Have you ever thought that you are sinful and worthless enough to be loved by God? Well, this is for you.

God created us in his image. He gave us the ability to think and to feel, that's why we are able to love, feel happiness, sadness, and anger, and God has these feelings too. But unlike humans, God's love is absolute. He might be angry and he will surely punish people for their sins because he is just, but he is also loving and his love is greater than his anger. His love and compassion for us is never ending and that's the reason why he's not letting us be consumed by his anger. He'll allow us to experience the consequences of our sins, but that's for us to learn and not to condemn us, why would he ask us to pay for something that he's already paid?

We always misunderstood God's silence as if he has left, well in fact, it's other way around—we do! We can't hear him because of our sins, and we sin because of our weaknesses that he already know. As far as his love is concerned, his love is always new for us every morning, and this is the reason why he never cease to search us and teach us whenever we fall.

Now the question is, did God ever unloved us? Absolutely not! We're far from hearing him because of our sins but he never stopped searching for us because he loves us.

The church is exposed with one of the greatest threat called division as other communities do. We cannot stop people from giving their opinions against anyone to another person, and their words will spread the hate to those who are going to hear them.

As believers, called of Christ, we have the identity of Jesus in us. He is teaching us the words of the Father through the Holy Spirit that we may know what to do as we continuously seek him daily. Jesus would want his body nourished, he protects it himself. If one part of the body was hurt, the whole body suffers, so do with the church as the body of Christ. Jesus wants the church to look for one other, not with each other's flaws but to the opportunities to help one another. Let us not be the reason for other members of the church denounce their faith but the reason for them to stay. Jesus said in John 13:35 that loving one another will be the sign that we are his disciples. Love seeks nothing but the benefits of the one that is loved. Loving the church means we want what is good for each part of the body of Christ, and this is through taking care of each other's needs and living with peace with everyone.
