The atmosphere at Lakepointe Church was electric as 52 couples stepped out of the shadows of cohabitation and into the light of a holy covenant. Following a challenging message on God’s design for marriage, Pastor Josh Howerton witnessed an immediate move of the Holy Spirit.
‘If you’re living with somebody that’s not your spouse... you’re coming under the loving conviction of the Holy Spirit to honor God,’ Howerton preached. He didn't just offer a sermon; he offered a ‘hand up.’ In a beautiful display of grace, the church provided counseling and a massive celebration for those ready to repent and align their lives with Scripture.
James Moore, one of the grooms, admitted they had ‘kept putting it off,’ but the call to obedience finally ‘lit a fire’ under them. This wasn't just a ceremony; it was about 52 lineages and family trees being changed forever. As these couples stood before the congregation, they weren't met with judgment, but with a standing ovation. ‘Welcome to Team Jesus,’ Howerton declared, marking a new chapter of faith-led legacies.
