All Christians are called to a lifestyle of prayer and to bear one another’s burden through intercession. Prayer is that unique channel of dialog with you and the Lord. It is entering into relationship with God so that we may determine His will in a matter and call His will into existence in the earth. Prayer is the one power on earth that commands the power of heaven. Prayer is the way that we, the branches draw the nutrients we need from God, the vine to produce the fruit of His Spirit in our lives. As a royal priesthood our roles are to minister first to God by praising, worshipping, and communing with Him in prayer and meditation on His word. Our ministry to others is an overflow of what we have received in our time alone with Him. (John 15:5, 1Pet 2:9) Prayer enables us to be obedient to God, united to Him and empowered by Holy Spirit. Intimacy and discernment is cultivated as you invest time in your relationship through prayer, praise fasting and renewing your mind. How can I pray for others? *God honors your desire to pray for others. *There are areas that you can always pray for anyone, saved or unsaved. *Pray that they will know God’s will for their lives. *Pray that they would do God’s will in their lives. *Pray for power in their lives. *Pray for them to have a right attitude. Praying or pleading with God on behalf of others is commonly called intercession. As an intercessor, Jesus spent His last hours interceding for the disciples and other believers. Prayer enables us to be obedient to God, united to Him empowered by Holy Spirit. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing and forceful men lay hold it. Matt 11:12 How can I pray for the Church? *Pray for believers to experience true worship. *Pray that believers will know, accept and obey the word of God *Pray for unity in Church. *Pray for souls to be worn to Christ. *Pray for joy in hearts and lives of believers.
