ANG KAHALAGAHAN NG SOCCOM SA GITNA NG PANDEMYA

Nung mga panahong wala pang pandemya, isa ang SOCCOM o Social Communications Ministry sa mga grupo sa simbahan na hindi madalas na nabibigyan ng pansin, hindi raw kasi ito kasing halaga ng ibang ministry na dapat pinaglalaanan ng budget kada buwan o taon. Hindi rin pabor ang ilan sa mga matatandang myembro ng PPC o Parish Pastoral Council na paglaanan ito ng budget gayong hindi rin naman mahilig ang karamihan sa kanila sa makabagong teknolohiya.

Minsan nga sa parokya namin ay sinita ng isang maImpluensiyang parishioner na may edad na ang isang isang videographer mula sa isang cabled-TV provider na noo'y kasalukuyang nagcocover ng misa para sa Patronal Fiesta, nahaharangan daw kasi ng videographer ang pari. Sabi pa ng matanda, hindi na raw kailangan ng livestreaming gayong marami namang tao ang nakadalo sa naturang Fiesta. Hindi na bago ang mga pangyayaring ito maging sa SOCCOM. Kaya naman bilang lamang sa daliri ang nakapagsimula na nito kahit na noong wala pang pandemya.

Nagbago lamang ang pananaw ng mga parishioners lalo na ng ibang matatanda nung nagkaroon ng lockdown dahil sa virus, kung saan hindi lamang mga establisyimento ang napasara, kundi pati na ang mga simbahan sa iba't ibang lupalop ng bansa. Nagkaroon rin ng restrictions sa edad kung saan naging limitado lamang ang nakakalabas. At ilan sa mga nawalan ng pagkakataong makapagsimba ay mga kabataang may edad na bababa sa 18 at mga matatandang may edad 60 pataas.

Maraming binago ang pandemyang ito sa pananampalatayang Katoliko, may ibang mas tumatag ang pananampalataya at may iba rin namang nawalan na ng pag-asa. Sa pandemya ring ito mas nakita ng ilan ang kahalagahan ng SOCCOM kung saan umusbong ang kabi-kabilaang ministry sa bawat simbahan maipalaganap lamang ang Salita ng Diyos sa mga online platform.

'Yung ilan nga sa mga matatandang umaaray dati sa paglalaan ng budget sa ministry na ito, sila pa ngayon ang nangunguna sa pagbibigay ng suporta.

Kaya saludo kami sa mga SOCCOM na walang sawang nagsasakripisyo makapagbigay lamang maayos na livestream ng misa para sa mga tao. Lalo na sa mga nagsisimula pa lamang, na kahit walang kumpletong kagamitan at walang budget ay pinipili pa ring magpatuloy para sa Inang Simbahan.

Tunay nga na lahat ng ministry sa simbahan ay mahalaga sapagkat isa ito sa mga tulay upang mas makapagsilbi tayo nang higit sa Kanya.

PRAYER FOR THE APOSTOLATE OF THE MEANS OF SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS

God, to communicate Your love to men and women,
You sent Your only Son, Jesus Christ
into the world and made Him our Master,
the Way, the Truth and the Life of humanity!

Grant that the media of social communication:
press, films, radio, television, records and all audiovisual
may always be used for your glory and the good of all.
Raise up Vocations Apostolate for this multi-media apostolate,
and inspire all people of good will to contribute with prayer, action and the offerings,
so that through these means the Church
may preach the Gospel to all people.
