FAITH and FACTS: Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time
In this Sunday's Gospel (Matthew 16:13β20), Jesus asks His disciples a very important question: βWho do you say that I am?β
This question is not only for the disciples. It is also a question for each one of us. Knowing Jesus is more than simply knowing about Him. It means encountering Him, building a relationship with Him, and allowing Him to become the center of our lives.
Peter recognized Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God. His profession of faith reminds us that our relationship with Jesus begins when we truly recognize who He is and choose to follow Him.
But the Gospel also invites us to ask ourselves: Who is Jesus in my life? Is He only someone I pray to when I need help, or is He truly my Lord, my Savior, and the one I choose to follow every day?
May we continue to know Jesusβnot only with our minds, but with our hearts and through the way we live our faith.
Through this, we are reminded:
Know Jesus.
Follow Jesus.
Live for Jesus.
The Diocese of Cabanatuan Social Communications Ministry presents FAITH and FACTS, a brief reflection series to deepen our faith through the Sunday Gospel.
