A new chapter in the mission of evangelization began as the Diocese of Mati marked a historic milestone with its first-ever Diocesan Conference on New Evangelization. United by one faith and one mission, the inaugural gathering brought together clergy and lay faithful from different parishes who are committed to embracing the Church's missionโto proclaim the Gospel with renewed hope, active dedication, and unwavering faith.
The event commenced with a sacred Bible Enthronement, symbolizing that God's Word is the center and ultimate guide of Christian life and community. This was followed by Marian Veneration, honoring the Virgin Mary as the Mother of God and asking for her intercession as the conference inaugurated.
At the heart of the conference were the faith-enriching talks that invited the participants to look deeper into the meaning of Evangelization. The first session was given by Rev. Fr. Rene Ribac, DCD, STL, who insightfully shared about the "Soul of Evangelization." Following his session was Rev. Fr. Edilberto R. Mahinay, DCM, STL, who meaningfully offered his reflection on the "Heart of Evangelization."
The first day of the gathering ended with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Uldarico Torroba Jr., DCM, together with the concelebrating priests, Rev. Fr. Josie Ariel Garcia and Rev. Fr. Edilberto Mahinay.
