🔥 WILDFIRE RISK REACHES EXTREME LEVELS ACROSS MUCH OF ONTARIO 🔥

A new wildfire risk map released for Friday, June 5, 2026, shows large portions of Ontario under HIGH to EXTREME wildfire danger as hot, dry conditions continue across the province.

⚠️ Areas marked as “Extreme” face conditions where wildfires can ignite easily, spread rapidly, and become difficult to control. Even a small spark from a campfire, cigarette, fireworks, ATV, or vehicle parked on dry grass could start a fast-moving fire.

Residents are urged to:

🔥 Properly extinguish campfires
🚭 Dispose of smoking materials safely
🎆 Avoid fireworks where permitted
🚗 Keep vehicles off dry grass
📢 Follow local fire bans and burn restrictions

While some rainfall is expected in parts of Ontario this weekend, officials warn that wildfire danger remains elevated and could quickly return if dry weather persists.

Stay alert and use extreme caution outdoors. One careless spark can have devastating consequences.

✈️ TRENDING: Should YVR Be Renamed After Terry Fox?

A new mayoral proposal is sparking debate across British Columbia and Canada after suggesting that Vancouver International Airport (YVR) be renamed “Terry Fox International Airport.”

Terry Fox remains one of Canada’s most respected national heroes. After losing his right leg to cancer, he launched the Marathon of Hope in 1980, running thousands of kilometres across Canada to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. More than four decades later, his legacy has helped raise over $1 billion for cancer research worldwide.

Supporters say naming Canada’s second-busiest airport after Terry Fox would be a fitting tribute to a man who inspired generations through courage, perseverance, and selflessness.

Critics argue that airports serve as major international gateways and should retain geographic names that are instantly recognizable to travellers from around the world.

It’s important to note that Vancouver’s mayor cannot rename the airport alone. Any official change would require support from the Vancouver Airport Authority and likely involve discussions with federal and Indigenous stakeholders.

What do you think?

Should YVR become Terry Fox International Airport?

A Muslim Moroccan National Threatens Female RCMP Cop – “I’ll Make You My Slave”

A shocking video from a Montreal traffic stop has gone viral, showing 24-year-old Mohamed Bekkali, a Moroccan national living in Canada, verbally abusing a female SPVM police officer.

In the footage, Bekkali repeatedly insults the officer with degrading terms and explicitly says he could “buy her and make her his slave.”

He was issued a $228 fine for the misogynistic remarks.

Background on Bekkali:
• Long history of traffic violations

• Prior charges involving false documents and identity fraud (pleaded guilty in 2025)

• Currently under investigation for large-scale fraud allegations involving fake IDs and counterfeit documents

• Claims he is a victim of racial profiling and Islamophobia

The incident has sparked outrage across Quebec, with politicians condemning the misogyny and lack of respect for law enforcement.

What do you think should happen in cases like this?

Should there be stronger consequences for verbal abuse of police officers?

⚖️ MONTREAL COUPLE ACCUSED OF STEALING JEWELRY FROM FUNERAL NICHES

A Montreal couple is facing charges after allegedly breaking into funeral columbarium niches and stealing jewelry and other valuable items from the remains of deceased loved ones.

Police say 49-year-old André Diderot Gustave and 50-year-old Christina Loubounakis were arrested on May 14 following an investigation into multiple break-ins at funeral homes across the Greater Montreal area, including Laval, the North Shore, and Saint-Hyacinthe.

Investigators seized a large quantity of jewelry and are now working to identify and locate affected families so the items can be returned.

Montreal police are urging families and funeral homes to inspect columbarium niches and mausoleums for signs of theft. Anyone who discovers missing items is encouraged to contact their local police service immediately.

Families who believe they may have been affected should be prepared to provide:
▪️ The name of the deceased
▪️ A description and photos of stolen items, if available
▪️ The funeral home name and niche number
▪️ An estimated timeframe of the theft

The investigation remains ongoing.

🚨 BILL C-9 AMENDED TO CRIMINALIZE “RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL DENIALISM” 🚨

A Senate committee has approved a controversial amendment to Bill C-9 that would make “residential school denialism” a criminal offence punishable by up to two years in prison.

On Monday evening, the Senate Human Rights Committee voted to add the new provision to the Liberal government’s anti-hate legislation. The amendment defines “residential school denialism” as willfully promoting hatred against Indigenous peoples by condoning, denying, downplaying, or justifying Canada’s Indian residential school system, or by misrepresenting facts relating to it.

Critics argue the provision is vague and could have serious implications for freedom of expression and public debate. Supporters contend the measure is necessary to combat hatred and protect Indigenous communities from harmful misinformation.

The committee also made several other significant changes to Bill C-9, expanding the scope of legislation that was originally introduced to strengthen protections for places of worship and vulnerable communities.

The bill must still complete the legislative process before becoming law.

Do you support criminal penalties of up to two years in prison for “residential school denialism”?

🏍️ WINNIPEG TEEN CAUGHT AT 176 KM/H ON HIGHWAY 59

A 19-year-old Winnipeg motorcyclist is facing nearly $2,800 in fines, a licence suspension, and a 7-day motorcycle impound after allegedly fleeing police on Highway 59.

According to police, the rider was clocked at 176 km/h before allegedly attempting to evade officers. The incident resulted in multiple penalties, including significant fines and the immediate impoundment of the motorcycle.

Police continue to remind motorists that excessive speeding and fleeing from law enforcement put lives at risk and can carry serious consequences.

What do you think? Are the penalties tough enough for alleged street racing and fleeing police?

🇨🇦 CANADA VS BROOKFIELD

A comparison drawing attention online looks at Canada’s economic performance alongside Brookfield’s stock performance during the past year under Prime Minister Mark Carney.

📉 Canada:
• GDP Growth: -0.06% over 365 days

📈 Brookfield:
• Stock Growth: +16.51% over 365 days

Supporters argue the comparison is overly simplistic and that national economies and publicly traded companies operate under very different conditions. Critics say it raises legitimate questions about leadership, priorities, and economic results.

What do you think? Is this a fair comparison or comparing apples to oranges?
