The Philippine Carmelite Province of St. Titus Brandsma joyfully announces the Acceptance into Postulancy of, Br. Ruben V. Cerillo Jr. (Vinzons, Camarines Norte), Br. Marlon C. Ubalde, (Dinalungan, Aurora), Br. Mark Jay B. Halili (Tarlac City, Tarlac), and Br. Jan Harold M. Manguera ( Capas, Tarlac).

Warm congratulations to our dear brothers! Please join us in prayer that God's love and blessing always be upon them, and that He may give them continued grace, perseverance, and wisdom as they enter to Carmel.

PRAYER

We ask you, Lord,
that, in the imitation of Saint Titus Brandsma, we may know how to be close to you, near to the cross, and that we may always feel you near to us in our crosses, both large and small, as our Friend, our Companion on the journey, and our Redeemer.

May the cross always be for us a sign of love, of generous and total surrender to the cause of life, of solidarity and compassion for all. May we always say, in all the circumstances of life, with joy and full confidence in you.

Ave Crux Spes Unica...

OPENING PRAYER FOR EVERYDAY

God, our loving and merciful Father,
with Mary our Mother and Sister,
we adore and glorify You for all the great things You have done for us.
You lavish with abundance
those who gratefully remember You in moments of joy
and You never abandon
those who seek Your consolation in moments of sorrow.

You manifested to us Your loving-kindness and merciful justice in the person of Your Son, Jesus Christ. He brought your kingdom in our midst and by His death and resurrection, offered us the fullness of life. Those who believed and followed Your Son became living testimonies of your redeeming love in the world; and through the passing of years, many have testified by their lives that indeed, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

We praise and thank you for giving us Saint Titus Brandsma, who by his life remained steadfast in the faith and ardent in defending the truth and who by his martyrdom gave witness to his fidelity to You. Through the merits of his martyrdom and by his intercession, we humbly ask You to grant us Your Spirit’s gift of fortitude so that we may be able to witness to the Gospel even to the point of offering our lives for its sake. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Ninth Day

Saint Titus Brandsma, you labored zealously in the vineyard of our Lord and you gave your life freely because of your faith in Him. Your deep devotion to the passion of Jesus Christ and His cross brought you closer to him. Help us also to be close to Jesus, and that we may always recognize that He is our friend, companion and redeemer who is near us as we carry our crosses. May the cross always be for us a sign of love, of generous and total surrender to the cause of life, of solidarity and compassion for all. Through your intercession I ask for your help to bring these petitions to God (mention your petitions silently) that I, too, may always say, in all the circumstances of life, with joy and full confidence in Jesus “Ave Crux Spes Unica”, Hail to the Cross, our only hope. You recognized and allowed the light of the suffering yet victorious Christ to shine in your deep prayer and to be manifested in your selfless care for others. Through your intercession I ask for your help to bring these petitions to God (mention your petitions silently) grant that I, too, may allow the light of Christ to shine from within me through my authentic witnessing. Amen.

While in prison, you never failed to bring the compassion and mercy of the Good Shepherd to his flock. You served your fellow prisoners and even risked your life in order to encourage and assure them of God’s loving presence. Your deep contemplative life inspired them to see a ray of light in the midst of the darkness hovering over them. Through your intercession I ask for your help to bring these petitions to God (mention your petitions silently) grant that I, too, may continue to serve our brothers and sisters even in the most difficult and oppressive situations. Amen.
