THE PRAYER FOR SPECIAL GUIDANCE
Psalm 37:23 KJV The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Psalm 37:23 GNT The Lord guides us in the way we should go and protects those who please him.
In Genesis 24:10-27 Abraham’s commissioned his chief servant to go in search of a bride for Isaac. Abraham was getting very old (Genesis 24:1) and Isaac at this time was over forty years of age and still unmarried. In vv 9 and 10 we have the record of the way this chief servant prepared for his journey and then set out to go to the city of Nahor in Mesopotamia, to look for a bride for Isaac. Abraham was much in prayer about this, as is suggested by the words at the end of v7; but so was Abraham’s servant, as v12 tells us. How could he possibly choose the right girl unless he received some special guidance in the matter? He not only needed guidance in a general sense, but he needed it in a very special sense, and here it is important to notice that the guidance that God gives to His children may be specific.
If this servant don’t seek God guidance or God did not direct his steps he could not fulfil his task and he might make a wrong choice. As he go for search, there is no doubt that God was willing to guide him. As he was still speaking to the Lord about this (in prayer). God answered this man’s prayer and showed him what His will concerning the choice of a bride for Isaac.
As we walk with the Lord each day He guides us. We may not be conscious of our need of this but He oversees our steps.
There are times when we need special guidance concerning particular needs or decisions that have to be taken. It is then that we ask God to give us special guidance, and He does so;
1.Believe that God could and would guide you always.
2. Ask God to give you a special sign.
3. Believe that you have received the guidance you need.
Perhaps at this moment you are in need of special guidance concerning a career, who you should marry, where you should live, whether the Lord is calling you into the ministry or overseas to serve Him. Now, all these important decisions need special guidance from the Lord. You have to make a decision.
God is still the same, and He still desires to give us that special guidance.

WHICH TIRE?
Two guys were taking chemistry at the University of Phillipines. They were so confident going into the final that two days before, they decided to go up to Saint Louise University in Baguio and party with some friends. They had a great time. However, they overslept and didn't make it back to UP until the morning of the exam.
Rather than take the final, they found their professor afterward to explain why they missed the final. They told him that they went up to Saint Louise University in Baguio for the weekend and had planned to come back in time to study, but that they had a flat tire on the way back and didn't have a spare and couldn't get help for a long time, so they were late in getting back to campus. The professor thought this over and told them they could make up the final on the following day. The two guys were relieved. They studied that night and went in the next day for the final. The professor placed them in separate rooms, and handed each of them a test booklet and told them to begin.
They looked at the first problem, which was worth 5 points. It was something simple. "Cool," they thought. "This is going to be easy." They did that problem and then turned the page. Question #2 said: "Which tire?" (95 Points).

A BELIEVER’S PRAYER FOR THE BRETHREN
Colossians 1:9-14 For this reason, from the day we heard about your love, we also have not stopped praying for you. We keep asking that you would be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, 10 so that you might live in a way that is worthy of the Lord. Our goal is that you please him by bearing fruit in every kind of good work and by growing in the knowledge of God, 11 as you are being strengthened with all power because of his glorious might working in you. Then you will have complete endurance and patience, joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who qualified us[a] to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.13 The Father rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption,[b] the forgiveness of sins.
A true followers of Christ must a men of prayer; they not only believed in prayer, but they pray. Their Christian life must begin in prayer; they must pray for themselves; and they asked others to pray for them also. In addition to this they practiced intercession (praying for others).
THE CONTENT OF BELIEVER’S PRAYER FOR THE BRETHREN
In Colossians 1:9-14 Paul set an example for praying the believers in Colossae for us to follow:-
(1) THAT THEY MIGHT BE GIVEN PERCEPTION. In v9 Paul prayed that God would fill the Colossians “with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” We have no greater need than for spiritual enlightenment in order that we might know the will of God and do it.
(2) THAT THEY MIGHT LEAD LIVES PLEASING TO THE LORD. Our greatest ambition should be to please the Lord in all things.
(3) THAT THEY MIGHT ENGAGE IN PROFITABLE SERVICE. V10 says, “…bearing fruit in every good work…” God’s will is that our lives should be fruitful, that they should show the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
(4) THAT THEY MIGHT MAKE PROGRESS IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE. God wants us to grow into spiritual maturity.
(5) THAT THEY MIGHT BE ENDUED WITH POWER. V11– “being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might…”
(6)THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE PATIENCE. In v11 there are three vital words – endurance, patience and joy, and the apostle prays that these Christians might endure in the face of fierce testing, that they might do so with a gentle and loving spirit, and that they might be filled with joy, even though called upon to suffer for their Lord.
(7) THAT THEY MIGHT BE FILLED WITH PRAISE. It is very important to notice the difference between praise and prayer. There are some things for which we are to pray, which we have noticed; but there are other great blessings to thank God for, because He has already given them to us.

GOD’S CALL TO A HOLY LIFE
1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 TLB For God has not called us to be dirty-minded and full of lust but to be holy and clean. 8 If anyone refuses to live by these rules, he is not disobeying the rules of men but of God who gives his Holy Spirit to you.
God’s plan and purpose for His children is that they should live holy lives and He has given His Holy Spirit to make that possible. There is no more important truth for us to understand and experience than this biblical doctrine of holiness. Throughout Scripture we hear God calling His people to holiness, yet today this great doctrine has been almost lost sight of; consequently many of God’s people are living joyless, powerless and fruitless lives, and the Church’s witness in the world is weak and ineffective.
When Paul wrote to the young Christians at Thessalonica who had recently been engulfed in all the darkness of paganism, he longed that they should be holy
THE MEANING OF A HOLY LIFE
Let’s ask ourselves: What are the marks and characteristics of a holy life?
(1) A LIFE THAT IS PLEASING TO GOD. Do you desire to please Him? - then you must be holy and you must have a testimony like that of Enoch (Hebrews 11:5).
(2) A LIFE OF GOING ON WITH GOD. Our life must be a life of increase and of progress. How many people are born again, have the assurance of sins forgiven, but they never seem to grow in grace! Are you going on with the Lord and growing?
(3 A LIFE OF CLEAR-CUT SEPARATION FROM EVIL. In v3 we are exhorted to “avoid sexual immorality”; v5 speaks of “passionate lust”; v6 warns us that a Christian should not “wrong his brother or take advantage of him”; and in v7 we are solemnly called to cut out every form of impurity. Because God calls us to a life of purity, we must do something about it.
(4) A LIFE WHERE THE BODY IS KEPT UNDER CONTROL. Have we presented our bodies to the Lord for Him to give us the mastery over them (Romans 12:1)?
(5) A LIFE THAT IS TRANSFORMED. God calls us to live an entirely new life, a holy life (Romans 6:4).
(6) IT IS A LOVE-FILLED LIFE. To be holy is to be healthy, and the secret of spiritual health is love (Romans 5:8).
(7)IT IS A LIFE OF ABSOLUTE HONESTY. No-one can say that this is not practical – holiness in action! – becoming more and more like Christ.
Finally, notice these two things: (1) We can begin to live a holy life now, but this requires a crisis – a definite act of surrender and of faith on our part, which takes place in a moment; but (2) we must go on to live a holy life – that is, as moment by moment we recognize His presence, respect His person and receive His power. How very wonderful it is that God who called us to live a holy life has given us His Holy Spirit to make such a life possible!

THE CARE AFTER CONVERSION
1 Thessalonians 3:1-10
Paul’s two letters to the Christians at Thessalonica will be impressed with the fact that the Apostle was deeply concerned for the welfare of these new converts. He longed that they should become established in the faith and grow up into healthy, robust Christians. In all his Letters we detect Paul’s passion for the salvation of souls, his longing for sinners to be saved (Romans 10:1). But when they were saved, he then became deeply burdened for their spiritual growth in grace. Paul was concerned not only about evangelism but about consolidation; we must not only be concerned about securing converts but about caring for the converts after their commitment to Christ. This, after all, is our commission (Matthew 28:19-20); compare Acts 2:41-42 with Acts 11:21-23. What kind of after-care did these new converts at Thessalonica need, and how did Paul seek to meet that need?
1. They needed the tender, loving, watchful care of their spiritual parent.
Paul loved them (1 Thessalonians 2:8), longed for them (1 Thessalonians 2:17-18), and he was burdened for their spiritual welfare (1 Thessalonians 3:5).
2. They needed encouragement. Friendship & fellowship - They would benefit from your more mature experience, enabling them to grow in grace and in the knowledge of their Saviour. these converts had the friendship and fellowship of each other for encouragement, and how wonderful it is when souls are born again and the new babes are welcomed into the fellowship of God’s people and made to feel they are wanted and loved!
3. They needed to be shown the secret of victorious Christian living. – They need to be taught, and to teach others: (1) how to get victory over sin and the Devil (Romans 6:12-14); (2) how to keep pure (Psalm 119:9); (3) how to deal with sin when it has been committed (1 John 1:9); (4) how to go on to live a holy life (Romans 12:1-2).
4. They needed to be grounded in the truth of the Second Coming of Christ - New converts need to be instructed about Christ’s return (Titus 2:13-14), so that they begin to live for the world to come more than for this world (1 John 2:15-17); so that they have an incentive to live for Christ and to serve Him faithfully (Luke 19:13); and so that with all the evil that surrounds them they will treasure this purifying hope (1 John 3:2-3).

THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD
When the Bible is received as the Word of God it is at work in the lives of those who believe and receive it.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 TLB And we will never stop thanking God for this: that when we preached to you, you didn’t think of the words we spoke as being just our own, but you accepted what we said as the very Word of God—which, of course, it was—and it changed your lives when you believed it.
When anyone believes and receives the message of the Bible, something happens. It works powerfully in the life because the message is dynamic (Hebrews 4:12), and Ephesians 6:17. What does the Word of God do in and for those who believe and receive it?
(1) It has power to transform lives and characters (Psalm 19:7). Luke 22:32. The message of the Bible is the instrument God uses for producing the miracle of conversion. Look at the Thessalonian converts: Paul preached the Word, they received it, and their lives were transformed!
(2) It has power to cleanse hearts and lives. Look up and compare Psalm 119:9; John 15:3; 17:17; and Ephesians 5:25-26. How can we keep clean in this evil world? We must read, receive and meditate on the Word of God and it will have a cleansing effect on us.
(3) It has power to keep sin from those who receive it (Psalm 119:11). If we hide His Word in our hearts we are kept and receive victory in temptation.
(4) It has power to impart and deepen faith (Romans 10:17) – whether it is faith for justification, sanctification, to pray effectively, to trust for His provision, or in times of adversity.
(5) It has power to feed, nourish and build up (Acts 20:32); 1 Peter 2:2. Our bodies need food, but so do our souls, and if we feed on the Word we grow spiritually; if we neglect to feed we starve spiritually and remain stunted and immature Christians.
(6) It has power to give guidance and wisdom (Psalm 19:7-8; 73:24; 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:15-17).
(7) It has power to give assurance and confidence. Not one of the promises referred to in 2 Peter 1:4 has ever failed or will ever fail, and there is a promise relating to every situation that we are ever likely to face: assurance of salvation (John 5:24; Romans 10:9; 1 John 5:13); forgiveness of sin (1 John 1:9; 2:1); that God will keep us until the end of the journey (2 Timothy 1:12; Jude 24); that we can be sure about the future – Heaven, and what happens at death and after death (John 14:2-3; 2 Corinthians 5:1-10).

What a power the Word of God is! – but notice, it is only worked out to anyone who believe – and to those who receive the Word.

MEMO FROM GOD
From: God
To: All His Children
I am God.

Today, I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help.

If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. All situations will be resolved in My time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

Should you decide to send this to a friend, thank you. You may have touched a life in ways you will never know!

This was copy paste by a black guy in the Philippines.

When I born, I black.
When I grow up, I black.
When I go in sun, I black.
When I cold, I black.
When I scared, I black.
When I sick, I black.
And when I die, I still black.

You white folks...When you born, you pink.
When you grow up, you white.
When you go in sun, you red.
When you cold, you blue.
When you scared, you yellow.
When you sick, you green.
When you bruised, you purple.
And when you die, you gray.So who you callin' colored??

TWO BODYGUARDS
A girl went to a party, but she ended up staying longer than planned and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, she asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger.
When she reached the alley, which was a shortcut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection. A comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped around her, and she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely.
The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young woman had been r***d in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station.
She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed.
The officer thanked her for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. She was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her."

THE SAINTS ARE GOD’S DWELLING
Ephesians 2:21-22 TLB We who believe are carefully joined together with Christ as parts of a beautiful, constantly growing temple for God. And you also are joined with him and with each other by the Spirit and are part of this dwelling place of God.
Every saint is one in whom God lives.
John 14:23 Jesus replied, “Because I will only reveal myself to those who love me and obey me. The Father will love them too, and we will come to them and live with them.
Ephesians 2:21-22, so what is the practical result of all this?
(1) IF I AM GOD’S PROPERTY I MUST TAKE GREAT CARE OF IT. My life, my body, all that constitutes ‘me’, belongs to the Lord now, so I must not willfully or carelessly damage or hurt it because I am only the tenant and He is the owner. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Haven’t you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you. 20 For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because he owns it.).
(2) IF I AM GOD’S HANDIWORK I MUST NOT HINDER HIS WORK IN ME. He may be working in my life as the Metal Worker: this surely will involve a good deal of hammering which might not be pleasant; He may be working as the Corn Grinder, and this will be a very humbling experience. His particular work just now may be more like the Embroiderer – gentle and quiet. Or, it may be that the pressure of His hands is upon me as He works as the Potter at the wheel… It is not pleasant to be beaten out, to be ground, to feel the pinpricks of the needle, or to be moulded – but it is always so worthwhile when the Lord Himself is the worker! ARE WE COMPLETELY YIELDED TO HIM SO THAT WE MAY WORK OUT HIS GOOD DESIGN IN US AND UPON US?
(3) IF I AM GOD’S TEMPLE I MUST KEEP IT CLEAN AND GIVE HIM FULL ACCESS TO IT. 2 Corinthians 6:16-17. God’s temple is holy and must not be polluted. Is there any pollution in you? Do you have a clean heart for worship (Psalm 51:10); clean feet for walk (Isaiah 52:11); clean hands for work (Psalm 24:4); and clean lips for witness (Isaiah 6:7)?
We are GOD’S HOUSE not a HAUNTED HOUSE full of evil spirits such as impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, Spiritism, hatred and fighting, jealousy and anger, selfishness, complaints and criticisms, boastful, envy, murder, drunkenness, wild parties, and pride all that sort of thing. Let me tell you, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Believer’s Duty is Clear
1 John 3:3 TLB And everyone who really believes this will try to stay pure because Christ is pure.
In verse 3 John says, “Everyone who believe this…” (that is, the assurance that Jesus is coming back again, and that when He comes we shall be like Him), “…purifies himself, just as he is pure”. If we live in the light of the Lord’s coming we shall live very carefully, by purifying ourselves (2 Corinthians 7:1); having a tender conscience about sinful things in our lives, homes or businesses; wanting to live in ways pleasing to the Lord, so that if He comes suddenly we will not be ashamed when we meet Him (1 John 2:28).

Is there any adjustment that you should make in your private life, with your home or your daily work, or in relation to your service for the Lord? If you knew the Lord would return tonight, is there an urgent matter you would attend to, so that you would be ready to meet Him and not feel ashamed? He may be here tonight! See to that matter now – for “everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.”
