A group of young professionals that aims to strengthen personal relationship with God through Prayer Meetings, daily prayer time, Scriptures and observing the Holy day of obligation. It was an opportunity to know more about God and a privilege to serve Him. Devoting most of your college life to this kind of life would definitely make you miss and desire for the same after school days. This is what
exactly Reymon Samia, a former President of Knights of the Blessed Sacrament, felt during his early journey in the corporate world in the year 1999. With the determination of serving God even after college and with the desire of continuously feeling His presence, he yearned for a community. Francis Abogado, who has been his brother in Holy Angel Student Catholic Action (HASCA) during college advocated his idea and planned of setting up a community. In April 1999 at Eliziel Reyes’ (former HASCA President) residence, the two men proposed their idea to friends from different religious organizations. A positive reaction was gained from the group and steered them to an initial planning about membership, funds and the formal introduction of the community in Baguio City on May 1, 1999. The community was formally introduced to members on July 10, 1999 at Luring’s Barbeque House, which was attended by the former and present members of the different religious organizations of Holy Angel University. On July 31, 1999 at Loyd Castro’s (former ARCH-CON President) residence, proposal of a community name and theme was conducted. It was then agreed upon to call the community as Mystical Fellow-Sheep in Christ (MFC) and members will be called Mysticans. Mystical is another term for spiritual. Fellowship is creating a good camaraderie and harmonious relationship among members. The word “ship” was changed into “sheep” because Mysticans considered themselves as humble servants of God. The community adopted Psalm 23 as the theme from which the community logo was developed by Romeo Galang, a former HASCA dedicated officer. The MFC community is structured to be headed by a community leader and members were grouped into four function circles: Music, Outreach, Documentation and Finance. A community house has been rented to have an official venue for MFC gatherings and meetings. On August 15, 1999, A Vow of Commitment was signed by the founding members. An event that launches the MFC odyssey that only God knows its providence.
