๐๐จ๐ช๐จ?
First, they were too focused on His suffering and death. They remembered the Biyernes Santo but forgot the promise of Easter. In the same way, when we focus too much on our problems and pain, we fail to see that Jesus is already with us. But in every struggle, He walks with us guiding, supporting, and even carrying us when we are weak. Ika nga, ๐๐ข ๐ฉ๐ช๐ณ๐ข๐ฑ ๐ข๐ต ๐จ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฉ๐ข๐ธ๐ข, ๐ฌ๐ข๐ด๐ข๐ฎ๐ข ๐ฏ๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฏ ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ช๐บ๐ฐ๐ด.
Second, they had the wrong image of the Messiah. They expected a political savior, not a merciful and loving one. Sometimes, we also misunderstand God thinking He is only looking and focusing on our sins. But our true God is merciful, loving, and compassionate. God loves us amidst of our unworthiness inspite of being ungrateful to his mercy. In short, ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ธ๐ข๐ข๐ฏ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ ๐ต๐ข๐บ๐ฐ ๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ช๐บ๐ฐ๐ด.
Third, they did not fully understand the Sacred Scriptures. That is why Jesus explained everything to them. If we do not know Godโs Word, it becomes harder to recognize Him in our lives. This teaches us something very important: ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฅ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐ช๐ด ๐ช๐จ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐ด๐ฆ๐ญ๐ง. If we do not listen to His Word, if we do not open the Bible, it becomes harder for us to recognize Jesus in our lives, in others, and in creation.

๐๐จ๐ช๐จ?
It was during the ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ. In the Holy Mass, Jesus is present. In that moment, they recognized Him. He reveals himself to us not just by the word but through the Eucharist.
And this leads us to a challenge. If we fail to recognize Jesus in others, we begin to hurt, judge, and exploit them. If we fail to recognize God in nature, we abuse and destroy creation. If we fail to recognize His presence in our lives, we live without hope. But if we truly recognize Him in the Eucharist, in His Word,in our fellow human beings, and in His creations then our lives will be transformed. Like the disciples, may our hearts burn within us as He speaks to us. And may our eyes be opened, so that we may finally see: ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ฎ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ด.
