Because of this, don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again from above.’ The wind blows where it pleases and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. It is like that with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus asked again, “How ...

STEP OUT OF YOUR FEARS. STEP INTO YOUR MISSION | “In today’s first reading, we see something very real. The apostles are doing good—preaching, healing, helping people. And yet, they are arrested, put in prison, and silenced. Why?

Because truth can sometimes disturb people. Goodness can sometimes threaten those who are comfortable with power.

But here is the beautiful part of the story. During the night, an angel of the Lord opens the prison doors and tells them: “Go and take your place in the temple area, and tell the people everything about this life.”

In other words: “Do not stop. Continue your mission.”

+++

This is not only the story of the apostles. This is also our story. Because in our own lives, there are also “prisons.” Not necessarily bars and chains—but fears that hold us back.

Fear of what others will say. Fear of being rejected. Fear of standing for what is right. Fear of living our faith openly.

Sometimes, we know what is right, but we remain silent. We know what is good, but we hesitate. We know we should witness to our faith, but we say, “Later na lang…”

+++

But today, the Lord sends us the same message He gave the apostles: “Go and tell the people everything about this life.” Do not keep your faith hidden. Do not lock it inside. Because faith is not meant to be kept—it is meant to be shared.

+++

And notice something important. After they were freed, the apostles did not run away to hide. They went back—to the temple. They went back—to the mission. They went back—to where it was difficult. Why? Because when you are truly touched by God, you cannot remain silent.

+++

Maybe today, the Lord is opening some “doors” in your life. A chance to forgive. A chance to correct something wrong. A chance to speak about your faith. A chance to do good, even if it is not easy. Do not ignore it. That may already be God freeing you and sending you.

+++

Let me end with this:

The apostles were imprisoned—but they were free. Free to love. Free to serve. Free to proclaim the truth.

And many today are not in prison, but are not truly free. Because they are held back by fear.

So today, the Lord is telling us: “Do not be afraid. I am with you.” Step out of your fears. Step into your mission. And like the apostles, go and live your faith with courage.”

PRAY NOT ONLY FOR COMFORT, BUT FOR COURAGE | “In today’s reading, Peter and John have just been threatened. They were warned not to speak anymore in the name of Jesus.

When they returned to the community, they did something very important: They prayed.

But notice how they prayed. They did not ask God to remove their problems. They did not ask God to take away their enemies.

Instead, they prayed: “Lord, grant your servants to speak your word with all boldness.”

In other words: “Lord, do not take away the difficulty—give us courage to face it.”

+++

This is a powerful lesson for us. Many times, when we face problems, we pray: “Lord, remove this.” “Lord, make life easier.”

But the early Christians teach us something deeper: The real miracle is not always that problems disappear—but that we are strengthened to face them.

+++

After they prayed, the place was shaken, they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Their situation did not change immediately—but they changed. They became stronger. They became braver.

+++

We also face many fears today—
problems in life, uncertainties about the future, even fear of living our faith openly.

But today, the Lord invites us: Pray not only for solutions—but for strength. Pray not only for comfort—but for courage.

+++

Let us not be a Church that is afraid, but a Church that is courageous.

And today, let us ask: “Lord, grant us boldness. Fill us with your Spirit.”

So that we may continue to live and proclaim our faith—with courage, with joy, and with trust.”

In an interview with ‘Dialoghi’, magazine, the Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin strongly supported Pope Leo’s call for peace and dialogue in the context of the recent conflicts in the Middle East. The cardinal was responding to the question about the distance from US President Donald Trump's position. "The voice of the Pontiffs is prophetic," Parolin said while admitting that "it risks being a voice crying in the wilderness if it is not supported and given concrete help." Warning against the dominance of ‘the logic of the strongest’ the Cardinal urged, "As Christians, let us oppose this trend." In the interview, Cardinal Parolin said how he was alarmed by the stance that presents the war as the only option and the definitive and inevitable solution, leaving diplomacy "silent," "incapable of activating alternative instruments.” Calling all Christians to become voices of peace, the Cardinal said that "there is a need for more voices of peace…more voices against the folly of the arms race," and "more voices raised on behalf of our poorest brothers." He made an urgent appeal for "a surge of humanity and responsibility on the part of all," "a shared commitment that puts the dignity of the person back at the center."
