𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

Almighty Father, we raise our hearts to you in gratitude, for the wonders of creation of which we are part, for your providence in sustaining us in our needs, and for your wisdom that guides the course of the universe.

We acknowledge our sins against you and the rest of your creation. We have not been good stewards of nature, We have confused your command to subdue the earth. The environment is made to suffer our wrongdoings, and now we reap the harvest of our abuse and indifference.

Global warming is upon us. Typhoons, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and other natural calamities occur in an increasing number and intensity. We turn to you, our loving Father, and beg forgiveness of our sins.

We ask that we, our loved ones and our hard earned possessions be spared from the threat of calamities, natural and man-made. We beseech you to inspire us all to grow into responsible stewards of your creation, and generous to neighbors to those in need.
Amen.

But… what exactly is AYD?

The Archdiocesan Youth Day (AYD) is a gathering of young people from throughout the Archdiocese—a time to come together, celebrate our faith, encounter Christ, build friendships, and discover our mission as young people in the Church.

But AYD is more than just a three-day event.

It is a journey of encounter, community, and mission. It is a space where young people can pause amid the noise of everyday life, listen to God, meet fellow young Catholics, and be reminded that we have a place and a role in the life of the Church.

And for AYD 2026, we gather under the call to **IGNITE**.

So, if you’re wondering what AYD is…

Come and see.

​The Archdiocesan Youth Cross will remain until Sept. 5, 2026, before it is transferred to the Holy Family Vicariate.

In 1984, St. John Paul II entrusted a 3.8-meter wooden cross to the youth, saying: "Carry it throughout the world as a symbol of Christ's love for humanity." In 2003, he also entrusted young people with a copy of the Icon of Our Lady, Salus Populi Romani to accompany the everywhere it goes! 𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆.
