This morning, April 15, 2026, the Sto. Cristo del Perdon y Caridad Parish humbly marked a sacred moment in our journey of faith as we held the groundbreaking ceremony for the forthcoming improvement and renovation of our church.

In quiet gratitude and deep reverence, we entrusted this undertaking to God, praying that every stone laid and every effort offered may lead to a renewed home of worship for His people. May this new beginning strengthen our community, deepen our devotion, and draw us ever closer to His grace.

With firm hope in the promise of the Resurrection, the Archdiocese, together with the Sto. Cristo del Perdon y Caridad Parish community, mourns the passing of +Reverend Father Fernando T. David on April 14, 2026.

He serves as Rector of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Cabetican, Bacolor, and faithfully ministered to the People of God in various parishes.

Details of his wake and funeral rites will be announced in due time. We commend his soul to the loving mercy of the Lord and invite the faithful to offer prayers for his eternal repose.

With the firm hope in the promise of the Resurrection, the Archdiocese mourns the passing of +REVEREND FATHER FERNANDO T. DAVID today, April 14, 2026.

Father Fer, was currently serving as the Rector of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Cabetican, Bacolor. Throughout his life, he dedicated his service to various parishes, including the first parish established in a resettlement area, the Good Shepherd Parish in Bulaon Resettlement, City of San Fernando. This parish was created to provide support to displaced families affected by the volcanic eruption and lahar flows of Mt. Pinatubo in the 1990s.

Details of his funeral and wake will be announced soon. Let us offer our prayers for the eternal repose of his soul.

In the light of the Easter Season, as we rejoice in the Risen Christ and the promise of new life, the Sto. Cristo del Perdon y Caridad Parish announces the 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 for the improvement and renovation of our parish church on April 15, 2026, immediately after the 6:00 AM Mass.

As we begin this sacred undertaking, we entrust this work to the Lord, praying that it may be a sign of renewal in our faith and a testament to our continuing mission as one community in Christ. May the grace of the Resurrection guide and bless this endeavor toward its fruitful and safe completion.

The night began with the Blessing of Fire, marking the triumph of Christ’s light over the darkness of sin and death, followed by the Liturgy of the Word, where the Church solemnly proclaimed God’s saving works throughout salvation history. The faithful then joyfully took part in the Renewal of Baptismal Vows, reaffirming their commitment to live as children of the Resurrection, before entering into the Liturgy of the Eucharist, celebrating the first Mass of Easter. The celebration concluded with the traditional “Salubong”, a dawn encounter of the Risen Christ and the Blessed Mother, symbolizing the fullness of Easter joy and the victory of new life.

IN PHOTOS: Good Friday 2026

The faithful gathered in deep solemnity for the Veneration of the Cross, a central liturgy of Good Friday that invites the Church to honor the instrument of our salvation. This was followed by the Good Friday Procession, where the community reflected on the Passion and Death of the Lord through a prayerful and dignified walk of faith. The observance continued with the traditional “Burol” of the dead Christ and the Soledad, recalling the silent grief of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Church entered the great stillness of Holy Saturday, awaiting the glory of the Resurrection.

On Good Friday, the faithful prayerfully gathered to take part in the Stations of the Cross, beginning from Villa Julita and proceeding toward Dela Paz Norte, meditating on the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through each station, the community journeyed with Christ on the path to Calvary, reflecting on His Passion and offering prayers of repentance and gratitude for His saving sacrifice.

The sacred celebration began in the afternoon with the Dakit Cordero, reflecting on Christ as the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. This was followed by the Last Supper Mass, commemorating the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Priesthood, where the Lord offered Himself in love. The evening continued with the Vigil before the Blessed Sacrament, inviting the faithful to remain in prayer and accompany Christ in His agony, as we enter more deeply into the mystery of His Passion.

Our celebration began with the Blessing of Palms at Dela Paz Norte, recalling Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem as the faithful raised their branches in reverence. This was followed by a solemn procession to the Parish, symbolizing our participation in the Lord’s journey toward His Passion. The celebration culminated in the Holy Mass of Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord, inviting the community to enter more deeply into the mystery of Holy Week with faith, devotion, and renewed hearts.

Last March 25, 2026, Sto. Cristo del Perdon y Caridad Parish held its Kumpisalang Bayan, joined by the clergy of the Vicariate of Virgen De Los Remedios eho generously offered their time to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Together with our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Larry “Pot” S. Miranda, we extend our sincere appreciation to the following priests for their dedicated service to our community:
