This 𝑭𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒆𝒏𝒕 or what we called 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚, the church enters into a sacred silence as we veil the images of the saints and the sacred icons.

The saints and sacred icons, once visible to guide and inspire us, are now hidden beneath violet cloth — not to take them away, but to draw us deeper into the mystery of Christ’s Passion. In this “fasting of the eyes,” we are invited to look beyond what is seen and fix our hearts on the suffering and love of Jesus. The absence of these holy images heightens our longing, preparing our hearts for the sorrow of Good Friday and the glory of Easter Sunday.

May this Passiontide draw us closer to the heart of Christ. Let us walk these final days of Lent with prayer, sacrifice, and renewed devotion.

As we begin the sacred season of Lent, let us gather in prayer, humility, and repentance this Ash Wednesday.

Receive the mark of ashes as a sign of our faith, a reminder of God’s mercy, and a call to renewal of heart and spirit. May this day lead us to deeper reflection, sincere forgiveness, and a stronger walk with the Lord.

Join us for the Votive Mass for the Forgiveness of Sins and Rite of the Burning of Palms on February 17, 2026 – 5:00 PM, and our Ash Wednesday Masses on February 18, 2026 at the Parish Church and various chapels.
