This afternoon, we learned from Scripture that our Lord Jesus Christ gave us access to the presence of God, and ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐›๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐จ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž, ๐›๐ฎ๐ญ ๐จ๐ง ๐‚๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญโ€™๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

He then calls us to persevere in our faith and not shrink back. ๐–๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐š๐ค๐ž๐ง ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ, ๐ฐ๐ž ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐š๐›๐š๐ง๐๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ฅ. When life has challenged us in many ways, may we be reminded to put our confidence in Jesus again. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ

Three practical ways to persevere in our faith:
1) Draw near to God,
2) Hold fast to Him,
3) Connect ourselves to a community of believers.

โ€ŽIf we were to describe the kind of love weโ€™ve received from you, Ate, weโ€™d probably have a hard time putting it into just one word.

โ€ŽThereโ€™s this ๐ง๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž of you that somehow comes so naturally. Maybe the medical field really does have something to do with it. You notice when something is off, you listen when someone needs to talk, and you somehow know how to handle people even when emotions are all over the place. And whenever you give advice, it never feels like youโ€™re simply telling us what to do. You make us feel heard first.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽBut then thereโ€™s the other side of you: ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฒ Ate Mawie. The one who checks up on us, looks after us, reminds us of things, and gives us those little pieces of advice that we may not have asked for, but probably needed anyway.

โ€ŽAnd honestly, weโ€™re grateful for both.

Bible Character: JEPHTHAH ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ”ฅ

This Care Group Sundayโ€™s main character is the outcast-turned-commander, the mighty warrior Jephthah. From his life, we learned three main things:
1) God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
2) In any of our lifeโ€™s circumstances, we must stand on the truth of Godโ€™s Word and not on manโ€™s opinions/accusations.
3) Rash vows made to the Lord are costly, lead us to sin against Him, and produce terrible consequences.
