Marami ang nagsasabi na hindi dinaanan ng lahar o nagbabagang lava ang makasaysayang Cagsawa Church, dahil nang makita nila ang larawan noong 1934, nakatayo pa raw ang bahagi nito.

Ang istilo ng Daraga Church ay halos pareho na istilo at laki ng Cagsawa Church. Makikita sa larawan, na ito na lamang ang natira sa simbahan dahil dinaanan talaga ito ng lava at nalubog ang halos buong bahagi nito sa kumukulong putik noong 1814.

Sa paglipas ng panahon, bumigay narin ang pader na dating pintuan ng simbahan at bell tower na lamang ang natira, isa na ito ngayong National park sa Barangay Busay sa Municipality ng Daraga, Albay under the supervision of the National Museum of the Philippines.
