The Ministry of Altar Servers of the Cathedral of St. Stephen is inviting young people to respond to God’s call to serve at His altar.

Serving at the altar is more than just wearing a cassock. It’s about deepening your relationship with God, creating lifelong friendships, learning discipline and being a living witness of Christ by serving.

If you have the heart to serve and the desire to grow in faith, this is your opportunity to become part of our ministry.

𝟭𝟮𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲!

Today, we joyfully commemorate the 124th Proclamation Anniversary of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI)—a milestone that celebrates more than a century of unwavering faith, courageous witness, and faithful service to God and the Filipino people.

Since its proclamation on August 3, 1902, the Iglesia Filipina Independiente has stood as a symbol of a Church rooted in the Gospel while embracing the aspirations of the nation for freedom, dignity, and justice. Throughout its history, the IFI has remained steadfast in proclaiming Christ’s message of hope, compassion, and salvation, while courageously responding to the social, moral, and spiritual challenges of every generation.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Nurtured in Faith, Sustained by Grace, Sent Forth in Mission” (Ephesians 2:8–10), we are reminded that our calling as Christians is not merely to preserve our faith but to live it boldly through love, service, and active participation in God’s mission. By God’s grace, we continue to be instruments of peace, justice, reconciliation, and compassion in our communities.

As we honor the sacrifices and vision of our founders, clergy, and faithful members who dedicated their lives to the Church, may we also renew our commitment to carry forward the mission entrusted to us. Inspired by the examples of our forebears, we strive to become disciples who faithfully proclaim the Gospel, defend truth, uphold human dignity, and serve those in need.

On this historic occasion, let us offer our prayers of thanksgiving for the countless blessings God has bestowed upon the Iglesia Filipina Independiente throughout its 124 years of existence. May the Holy Spirit continue to strengthen every parish, diocese, clergy, lay leader, youth, and faithful member as we journey together in faith and mission.

ARAW NG KALAYAAN | Ika-12 ng Hunyo

“Sapagkat tinawag tayo ng Diyos upang mamuhay sa katotohanan, katarungan, at tunay na kalayaan.” (cf. Galacia 5:1)

Sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kalayaan, ating ginugunita ang katapangan at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani na nagbigay-daan sa kalayaan ng ating bansa. Bilang mga kaanib ng Iglesia Filipina Independiente, tayo ay tinatawagan hindi lamang na ipagdiwang ang kalayaang tinamo ng ating bayan, kundi isabuhay din ang mga pagpapahalagang Kristiyano—pag-ibig, pagkakaisa, katarungan, at paglilingkod sa kapwa.

Nawa’y patuloy tayong maging mga lingkod ng Diyos at ng bayan, nagtataguyod ng kapayapaan, dignidad ng bawat tao, at pag-asa para sa mas makatarungan at maunlad na Pilipinas.

Mabuhay ang Iglesia Filipina Independiente!
