Text: Psalm 46:1, 7, 10
Speaker: Ptr. Cristine
God Is Our Refuge
Psalm 46 has 11 verses, but its central message is clear: God is our refuge, strength, and ever-present help in times of trouble.
* Psalm 46:1 — God is near to those who are in need. When we are troubled, we can run to Him because He is always present and ready to help.
* Psalm 46:7 — God is with us. His presence gives us strength and assurance, especially in difficult and uncertain times.
* Psalm 46:10 — “Be still, and know that I am God.” We are reminded to stop worrying, surrender our situation to God, and trust in who He is.
Peace That Only God Can Give
The peace that comes from the Lord is different from the peace that the world offers. The world’s peace depends on circumstances, but God’s peace remains even when circumstances are difficult.
* Isaiah 41:10 — Do not be afraid or dismayed, because God is with us. We can face every situation with confidence because He is our God, and He will strengthen and help us.
* It is a privilege and blessing to know that God is with us.
* Do not be dismayed, because our God is faithful. Even when we cannot see what He is doing, we can trust that He is working according to His perfect will.
* Philippians 4:6–7 — Instead of being anxious, bring everything to God through prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving. When we do, God’s peace—which surpasses all understanding—will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
When life becomes overwhelming, be still and remember who God is. He is our refuge, He is with us, and He is faithful. We may not always have control over our circumstances, but we can always choose to trust the God who is in control.
