Grateful to be part of the Flores de Mayo catechetical lessons through the ministry of safeguarding and child protection.

Thank you to the SCBCP Catechetical Ministry for allowing us to share in guiding our children not only in faith, but also in understanding their dignity, rights, and safety. Together, may we continue building a Christ-centered and child-friendly community for all.

February 10, 2026, the Diocese of San Carlos officially launched its first Diocesan Safeguarding Policy. The celebration also marked the 38th anniversary of San Carlos as a diocese and the diaconal ordination of four candidates.

It was truly a blessed and meaningful day, as parishioners from different vicariates gathered together in unity and thanksgiving. The Holy Mass was presided over by Bishop Gerardo A. Alminaza, DD, together with priests from various parishes across the diocese.

Our partner organizations, CPTCSA and Mission Alliance, were also present to support the launching. The Diocesan Safeguarding Policy is the fruit of collaboration among the priests of the diocese. It was authored by Atty. Dawn Adolfo, reviewed by Fr. Martin Brodit and Fr. Marjun Almario, and approved by Bishop Gerardo A. Alminaza, DD, reflecting the shared commitment of the clergy to create safer spaces within the Church.

The celebration was not only historic but also a strong reminder of the Diocese’s commitment to safeguarding, service, and faithful stewardship.

January 18, 2026

The SCBCP Safeguarding Team conducted its first Personal Safety Lesson (PSL) session for the year at the St. Vincent de Paul Mission Station. The activity was attended by their officers and BEC President and members, who actively participated in the discussion and sharing.

The session came at a very timely moment, as it coincided with the celebration of the Feast of the Sto. Niño. This meaningful occasion reminded everyone of the Church’s special call to protect, care for, and nurture children, reflecting the innocence, vulnerability, and hope embodied by the Child Jesus.

Through the PSL, participants were given the opportunity to deepen their understanding of safeguarding, not only as a set of policies, but as a shared responsibility rooted in faith, compassion, and community. The gathering became both a learning experience and a moment of reflection, strengthening the commitment of the community to create safe, loving, and protective spaces for all, especially for children and the most vulnerable.

December 13, 2025 | National Children’s Month Celebration
Tema: “OSAEC–CSAEM WAKASAN: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”

Originally scheduled last November 29, our National Children’s Month celebration was joyfully held on December 13, 2025. The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful activities for the children.

While the children were enjoying the culminating activity, their mothers/guardians actively participated in the PSL session, allowing both children and parents to be meaningfully engaged in activities aligned with child protection and safeguarding.

Huge thanks to our SCBCP PYO for helping with the decorations and assisting the kids, as well as to our seminarians, Manong Mando for creating the booths, Ate Phoebe Bayot, Mary Catherine Ruel Padin, Mar SF Baric and Joy Bargo and especially to CPT CSA, and Mission Alliance for their generous support. Our sincere thanks also to Fr. Marjun for celebrating the Holy Mass.

With booths for music, arts, and crafts, the children happily expressed their creativity and enjoyed every moment. A joyful celebration and a strong reminder to continue protecting and upholding every child’s safety and rights.
