A Light of Hope, A Yes to Creation

Today, we celebrate the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the 12th Episcopal Ordination Anniversary of Bishop Dan Parcon, the birthdays of Fr. Rannie, Fr. Johnrey, and Augustine Parnoncillon, and the 3rd Priestly Ordination Anniversary of Fr. Argie and Fr. Carlo.

We also joyfully mark the turnover and Lights-On Ceremony of the Hybrid Solar Project at St. John Mary Vianney Seminary—one of two complementary solar projects of the Diocese of San Carlos.

More than a celebration of technology, this is a celebration of faith, partnership, stewardship, and hope. Inspired by Laudato Si’, these projects are concrete steps toward ecological conversion, energy responsibility, and care for our common home.

From REpower Matabas to the rooftops of our Seminary, Bishop’s Home, and Curia/Chancery Offices, we continue to turn our commitment into action.

As Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.” Her “yes” reminds us that God’s light enters the world when we listen, trust, cooperate, and respond.

Today, we turn on more than lights. We turn on hope. We turn on responsibility. We turn on a vision for a more sustainable and just future.

Yes to God’s light.
Yes to care for creation.
Yes to partnership and synodality.
Yes to energy justice.
Yes to a Church that lives what it proclaims.

We have walked the talk. Today, by God’s grace, we begin to run the talk.

With Gratitude, We Send Her Forth

The Diocese of San Carlos gathered in prayer and thanksgiving for the Farewell Mass of the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, held at Sto. Niño Parish, Cadiz City, and presided over by Rev. Fr. Erwin D. Magnanao.

After days of prayer, celebration, catechesis, procession, and communion with the faithful, the Pilgrim Image now continues her journey. Yet her departure is not a conclusion to what has begun. The image may leave our sight, but the grace, faith, and mission awakened in our communities remain.

In his homily, Fr. Magnanao reminded the faithful that the pilgrimage may end, but the mission continues. Our devotion to Our Lady must go beyond carrying her image, joining processions, or capturing moments. Mary, as a loving Mother, always leads us to her Son, Jesus. Her presence among us calls us to carry Christ not merely in our hands, but in our hearts and in the way we live.

As the Pilgrim Image leaves the Diocese of San Carlos, may what Mary has inspired in us remain: a deeper love for God, a stronger love for one another, and a renewed willingness to live the Gospel.

Mary goes from our sight, but she remains with us—always leading us to Jesus.

Today, the people gathered in prayer as the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was welcomed at Sto. Niño Parish Church. The occasion became a beautiful expression of Marian devotion, bringing together parishioners, devotees, members of the Catholic community, and local leaders in one celebration of faith.

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Erwin D. Magnanao, with the presence of City Mayor Hon. Salvador Escalante, Jr., City Vice Mayor Hon. John Vincent Escalante, and City Councilors Hon. Claire Therese Consing, Hon. Maricel Desuyo, Hon. Fria Cristine Cervantes-Napiza, and Hon. Winona Balagosa, alongside the faithful of Cadiz.

Following the Holy Mass, the faithful were given the opportunity to come before the sacred image in prayer and veneration. In the quiet moments of devotion, many hearts were lifted to God, entrusting their families, hopes, struggles, and intentions through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

May the presence of Out Lady of Guadalupe presence deepen our faith, strengthen our devotion, and faithfully follow Jesus Christ.
