Hi, I am Sean Hendrick De Guzman.
At first, I served as a choir member when I started serving God. Eventually, I joined the Lector/Commentator Ministry, but aside from being a Lector, what I enjoyed the most was being part of the Youth Ministry. One time, someone invited me to join a youth ministry meeting after Mass. I canโt forget that the agenda for that meeting was the virtual AYD. They asked me if I wanted to join their activity, which was animation. And I said yes. Naaalala ko pa โyong isa sa animations na inaral namin noon, titled โYES.โ Now I have this realization: in Godโs calling, sometimes we pass it, miss it, or because of some considerations, mahihindian talaga natin ito. Pero ang maganda sa tawag ng Diyos ay hindi Siya nagsasawang tumawag, na para bang hindi Niya tayo titigilan hanggang tayo ay sumagot ng โyesโ sa tawag Niya.
For almost 5 years of serving Him, isa sa pinakamasayang parte nito ay ang makasama ang maraming kabataan, mula sa ibaโt-ibang Parishes, Vicariates, at Arch/Dioceses. The experiences Iโve had in youth gatherings are what I now use to interact more easily with others. It boosts my interpersonal and intrapersonal skills; I am now more aware of myself โ who I am, what my values are, and what I believe in. Also, I now have good communication skills, I can collaborate effectively with others, and I can connect with them easily. I am more confident now because I know, I can feel, and I believe that God is always by my side.
Life serving God is not always easy: andiyan โyung magkakamali ka, masasaktan, magsasawa, at mapapagod. Pero kung mahal mo ang ginagawa mo, you will find the bright side in doing it. Ang bright side of serving God ay ang peace of mind na lagi kang may masasandalan sa panahong wala kang kakampi. Iyong may mapagkukuhanan ka ng lakas kapag nanghihina ka; kapag napapagod ka, meron kang pahinga. Serving Him is not always full of joy; you must always be prepared for the things you don't expect to happen to you.
To my fellow young people, I am one of the many true testaments that serving God is one of the most wonderful times of my life. It gives me many reasons to thank God all the time โ a reason to live, to love, to be grateful, and to share blessings with everyone. He is the reason why I believe that where and who I am today are answered prayers from Him.
