PENTECOST SUNDAY 🙏❤️

Today, the Catholic Church rejoices in the coming of the Holy Spirit — the moment when the Church was empowered, united, and sent forth in mission.

On this sacred day, we celebrate the birth of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Filled with the fire of Pentecost, the disciples were transformed from fear into courage, proclaiming the Good News to all nations.

May the same Holy Spirit continue to renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and unite us as one family in Christ. As one Church throughout the world, we give thanks for the Spirit who guides, sanctifies, and keeps the Church alive through every generation.

"Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love.”

Happy Birthday, One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church!

Today we rejoice not simply in a tradition, but in a living mystery—the birth of the Church at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles like a rushing wind and tongues of fire. From that moment, fear was transformed into courage, confusion into mission, and silence into proclamation. The Church was no longer locked behind closed doors; it was sent forth into the world.

To call this the “birthday of the Church” is to recognize that the Church is not merely an institution, but a Spirit-filled body of believers united in Christ. The “One” Church speaks of unity amidst diversity—many nations, languages, and cultures, yet one faith and one baptism. The “Holy” Church is not holy because of human perfection, but because it is continually sanctified by God’s grace. The “Catholic” Church is universal, embracing all peoples and all corners of the world. The “Apostolic” Church stands firm on the foundation of the apostles, faithfully passing on the teaching and mission of Christ.

Pentecost reminds us that the Church is always being renewed. The same Spirit who empowered the first disciples continues to breathe life into every generation—calling the fearful to courage, the weary to hope, and the divided to communion. It is a reminder that faith is not meant to remain inside churches alone, but to be lived in families, communities, and the world.

So as we say, “Happy Birthday, One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church,” we are also praying: Come, Holy Spirit, renew Your Church once more. Ignite our hearts with love, strengthen our faith, and send us forth as witnesses of Christ’s living presence in the world today.

Happy Birthday to our Youth Minister, Ate Diana 🙏❤️

PENTECOST SUNDAY MARKS THE BIRTHDAY OF THE CHURCH

Pentecost marks the birthday of the Church because it is on this day that Pentecost descended upon the Apostles, transforming them from fearful followers into bold proclaimers of the Gospel.

Before Pentecost, the disciples were hidden in fear after the crucifixion of Jesus. But when the Holy Spirit came upon them like a rushing wind and tongues of fire, everything changed. They were filled with courage, wisdom, and power to go out and preach Christ to all nations.

This moment is considered the “birth” of the Church because it was the beginning of its public mission — the moment the Gospel was no longer kept in a small room but was proclaimed to the whole world.

From that day onward, the Church became alive and active, guided not by human strength alone, but by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pentecost reminds us that the Church is not just a human institution, but a living body continually renewed by God’s Spirit. And just as the first disciples were strengthened, we too are called to be renewed, empowered, and sent forth today.

Come, Holy Spirit—renew Your Church and renew our hearts. 🕊️

Pentecost Sunday is Coming!

This May 24, 2026, the Church celebrates the great feast of Pentecost — the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and filled them with courage, wisdom, and fire. What once were fearful hearts became fearless witnesses of Christ.

Pentecost reminds us that God never leaves His people empty. The same Holy Spirit who strengthened the Apostles is the same Spirit guiding us today in our struggles, vocations, healing, and everyday battles.

Maybe you feel tired.
Maybe your faith has become silent.
Maybe your heart has been wounded by disappointments, losses, or unanswered prayers.

But Pentecost is a reminder that God can breathe life again into weary souls.

The Holy Spirit still moves.
The Holy Spirit still heals.
The Holy Spirit still calls.

As we prepare for Pentecost Sunday, may we pray:
“Come, Holy Spirit. Renew my heart. Strengthen my faith. Lead me closer to Christ.”

May this coming Pentecost not just be another Church celebration, but a personal encounter with the fire of God’s love.

DO NOT BLAME THE CHURCH FOR SPEAKING UP;
BLAME THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WHO ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR BEING CORRUPT

In a time when the nation is once again witnessing political scandal, marked by impeachment proceedings in the Senate and deepening divisions among leaders, the Filipino people are being drawn into confusion over where their anger should truly be directed.

The opening of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte has unfolded alongside political chaos in the Senate, leadership shifts, and controversy involving senators linked to serious allegations and questions of accountability. In moments like these, public emotion is easily stirred, but often misdirected.

This is where discernment becomes essential for us as Filipino Catholics.

Remember, don’t mistake the voice of truth for the cause of division.

When Catholic Church leaders or moral voices speak out against injustice, corruption, and abuse of power, they are not destabilizing the nation, they are REMINDING it of its moral center. They are doing what the Gospel teaches us: to speak for truth even when it is inconvenient, even when it is uncomfortable, even when it challenges the powerful.

Yet sadly, in times of political tension like what we are seeing today in the Senate and in national leadership, some people grow angry at those who speak up, while excusing or ignoring the very systems and officials being questioned. The anger is misdirected toward those who expose the wound, instead of those who inflicted it.

As Filipino Catholics, we are not called to be silent spectators of injustice. We are called to form our conscience, to SEEK TRUTH, and to STAND WITH THE POOR and the POWERLESS. The Church does not exist to take sides in partisan conflict, but to take the side of truth and human dignity.

Remember, the nation is not destroyed by those who speak out. It is weakened when truth is silenced, corruption is tolerated, and moral responsibility is avoided.
