As Lent and Ramadan begin together, we are reminded that faith calls us to reflect, discipline ourselves, and grow closer to God.

May this season teach us to fast not only from food, but from negativity — and fill our hearts with peace, kindness, and gratitude. 🤍

MEMORIAL OF ST. BLAISE – BLESSING OF THROATS

This Tuesday, we honor St. Blaise, bishop and martyr, known for his powerful intercession in protecting people from illnesses, especially of the throat. Traditionally, throats are blessed with candles in his name, asking God’s protection and healing.

Let us turn to St. Blaise in faith, asking for health, strength, and the courage to trust God in every challenge.

FEBRUARY 1 FALLS ON A SUNDAY

This is a beautiful reminder to begin the month by going to Mass and offering the first day of February to the Lord. Let us place God first, receive the Eucharist, and allow His grace to guide us through the days ahead.

LET US ALL PRAY FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE BASILAN SEA TRAGEDY

Merciful and loving Father, we place into Your Sacred Heart all who were taken, all who are still missing, all who survived, and every family waiting in pain and hope. Wrap them in Your mercy. Calm the fearful, heal the wounded, and strengthen the weary with Your grace.

Guide and protect our marines, rescuers, medical teams, and all who continue the search. Be their light in the darkness, their courage in danger, and their strength in every moment of exhaustion.

In this hour of sorrow, remind us that Your love is stronger than the sea and deeper than our grief. Hold Your people close and lead us toward hope, healing, and the promise of resurrection through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, pray for us.
