Last August 20, Pope Leo XIV appealed to the faithful to spend August 22 in fasting and prayer, asking God to “grant us peace and justice and to dry the tears of those who suffer because of ongoing armed conflicts” in regions such as the Holy Land, Ukraine, and elsewhere. He especially invoked Mary, Queen of Peace, to intercede so that “peoples may find the path to peace.”

OUR SOLIDARITY

Together with the Diocese of Virac, I wholeheartedly stand in solidarity with Pope Leo’s heartfelt appeal for a global day of fasting and prayer tomorrow Friday, August 22, the solemn Feast of the Queenship of Mary. At a time when wars continue to ravage the Holy Land, Ukraine, and many other regions, this initiative offers a powerful spiritual response. Within our masses, I enjoin our faithful to unite in a simple yet profound act of compassion — imploring God to bring peace, justice, and consolation to all who suffer.
