The Our Lady of Consolation Parish Caritas program handed out joy to 10 deserving individuals on January 11, 2024, through a heartfelt turnover ceremony conducted yesterday in Colase, Samboan, Cebu. Each recipient was presented with a brand-new motorbanca and fishing materials.
Before the official handover and blessing of the motorbancas, Bro. Jan Erickson Laspiñas, the District Coordinator of Parish Caritas, delivered a spiritual formation talk, highlighting the importance of their roles as stewards. Following this uplifting session, a brief program kicked off, which was opened by Mrs. Jesusa J. Estaño, the OLC Parish Caritas Coordinator. The ceremony continued with the reading of the contract, presented by Bro. Kendrick Miñoza.
Rev. Fr. Alex Cola, the Executive Director of Cebu Caritas, and Rev. Fr. Kit S. Sestoso, the OLC Parish Priest, delivered a brief message to the beneficiaries, urging them to get involved in Parish Caritas activities, while Esmeralito Bello, a program recipient, expressed his sincere appreciation to Cebu Caritas Inc. and OLC Parish Caritas for his inclusion in the program.
The ceremony was marked by the turnover of fishing materials and the blessing of the motorbancas, led by Rev. Fr. Alex Cola and Rev. Fr. Kit Sestoso. The event concluded with an early fellowship dinner and a ceremonial fishing activity performed by the recipients.
The Our Lady of Consolation Parish Caritas program is committed to uplifting the lives of marginalized communities. Through its various initiatives, the program aims to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities, promote education, and foster spiritual growth among the beneficiaries.
