The Easter Sunday celebration at Sto. Niño Parish commenced with the "Sugat," or Liturgy of Encounter, a venerable tradition symbolizing the meeting of the Risen Christ and the Blessed Mother. This liturgy was followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Sto. Niño Parish Basketball Court, which served as a central gathering point for the faithful.

The Easter Vigil, the "Mother of all Vigils," marks the Church’s profound transition from the silence of the tomb to the Resurrection’s splendor. Commencing in darkness with the New Fire, the lighting of the Paschal Candle signifies Christ’s triumph over death.

As the "Lumen Christi" resounds, the sanctuary transforms into a sea of light, guiding a narrative pilgrimage through salvation history. This journey reaches its peak with the jubilant return of the "Alleluia" and the festive Gloria. Through baptism and the Eucharist, the faithful witness the empty tomb and embrace the eternal promise of renewed life in Christ.

These reflections draw us closer to Christ, who suffered and died for our salvation, and inspire us to live out His message of love, forgiveness, and redemption.

Amidst the hallowed silence of dawn, the faithful gathered to observe the Via Crucis (The Way of the Cross), signifying the inaugural paraliturgy for this Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion. Commencing at 4:00 AM at Pigsungan Barangay Adecor, the procession moved solemnly toward the Parish, inviting all participants on a poignant spiritual pilgrimage through the Stations of the Cross.

This dawn procession serves as a profound emblem of our communal union with Christ’s sacrifice, providing a sacred space for the faithful to meditate upon the magnitude of the Lord’s Passion in anticipation of the day’s principal liturgical services.

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:5

We express our sincere gratitude to all who offered their time and devotion to this observance, uniting our collective intentions with the suffering of Christ for the redemption of the world. May this journey of faith deepen our reverence as we enter into the holiest hours of the liturgical year.

Sto. Niño Parish commemorated the Lord’s Last Supper through a solemn reenactment led by our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Elneri B. Meñez, DCD. He was joined by 12 apostles representing the different sectors, organizations, and ministries of the parish.

𝓜𝓪𝓼𝓼 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓛𝓸𝓻𝓭'𝓼 𝓛𝓪𝓼𝓽 𝓢𝓾𝓹𝓹𝓮𝓻

The Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday commemorates the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood, underscored by the humble act of the washing of feet.

Following the liturgy, the Blessed Sacrament is carried in a solemn procession to a repository. Once reaching the Altar of Repose, the Sacrament is placed in reposition within a tabernacle for a period of silent adoration, allowing the faithful to "watch and pray" in solidarity with Christ’s agony.

This transition is marked by the stripping of the main altar and the silencing of bells, stripping away the festive joy to prepare the heart for the desolation of Good Friday.
