There are messages we hear… and there are messages that truly pierce the heart. Yesterday’s Sunday Worship at Mizpah Assembly of God, through the powerful preaching of Ptra. Devy “Bem” Bacus, reminded us of a truth that is not easy—but is necessary: ang tinuod nga pagtuo, naay kauban nga sakripisyo.
“True Faith Requires Sacrifices.”
Dili lang ni Pulong, kundi challenge sa atong kinabuhi. Jesus Himself said in Mateo 16:24 that if we want to follow Him, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him. That means letting go of our own desires, our comfort, even our own plans—just to obey His will.
Usahay, ang sacrifice lisod kaayo. Even to the point nga ma-test ang atong love for our family, just like what is written in Marcos 10:29-30. Not that we abandon them, but we choose God above all—trusting that when we put Him first, He will take care of everything we leave behind.
And just like Abraham… we are also called to surrender our “Isaac.” Kana nga butang nga pinaka-importante sa ato—our dreams, our treasures, our “everything.” God is not after taking it away, but He is testing if we trust Him enough to give it back.
Because true faith is not just hearing—it is obeying. As written in Santiago 1:22, we are called to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. And part of that obedience is also honoring and submitting to God’s servant, as stated in Mga Hebreo 13:17, recognizing that they are placed by God to guide us.
Lisod? Oo. sakit? Usahay, oo gyud.
Pero mao gyud na ang tinuod nga pagtuo—kanang bisan lisod, mubarog gihapon ka. Bisan sakit, mupadayon gihapon ka. Bisan wala kasabot, mosalig gihapon ka sa Ginoo.
Because at the end of every sacrifice… there is always God’s greater purpose.💛💙
