We are about to enter the season of Advent. And one of the most popular symbols used during this season the Advent wreath. The Advent wreath is a symbol of the season, with a candle lit each of the four Sundays leading up to, and on Christmas Day. The four candles represent the four weeks of Advent, and one candle is lit each Sunday. Three of the candles are purple because the color violet is a liturgical color that signifies a time of prayer, penance, and sacrifice.

β€’ FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENTβ€”HOPE
The first candle, which is purple, symbolizes hope. It is sometimes called the β€œProphecy Candle” in remembrance of the prophets, especially Isaiah, who foretold the birth of Christ. It represents the expectation felt in anticipation of the coming Messiah.

β€’ SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENTβ€”PEACE
The second candle, also purple, represents Peace. It is called the β€œBethlehem Candle” as a reminder of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.

β€’ THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENTβ€”JOY

The third candle is pink and symbolizes joy. It is called the β€œShepherd’s Candle,” and is pink because rose is a liturgical color for joy. The third Sunday of Advent is Gaudete Sunday and is meant to remind us of the joy that the world experienced at the birth of Jesus, as well as the joy that the faithful have reached the midpoint of Advent.

β€’ FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENTβ€”LOVE
On the fourth week of Advent, we light the final purple candle to mark the final week of prayer and penance as we wait for the birth of our Savior. This final candle, the β€œAngel’s Candle,” symbolizes Love. It reminds us that God is love.

β€’WHITE CANDLE

Sometimes a white candle is placed in the middle of the wreath; this is a beautiful modern adaptation. The white candle is lit on Christmas Eve. This candle is called the β€œChrist Candle” and represents the life of Christ. The color white is for purityβ€”because Christ is our sinless, pure Savior.

Using an Advent Wreath is an excellent way to prepare your mind and heart for Christmas.

NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK: NOV 07β€”13, 2021

Did you know, that National Vocation Awareness Week is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations. As we take part in this celebration, may we pray for all our brothers and sisters, most especially in the U.S that they may continue to respond to the calling of God serve the Church for His greater glory!

β€’ π˜Όπ™Žπ™Žπ™π™ˆπ™‹π™π™„π™Šπ™‰β€”The feast of the Assumption is about Mary and is celebtated each year on August 15. The Blessed was taken up to heaven, body and soul. Though there is no direct mention of the Assumption in Scripture, there are several references to it and it is part of the Dogma of the Catholic Church.

β€’ π˜Όπ™Žπ˜Ύπ™€π™‰π™Žπ™„π™Šπ™‰β€”The feast of the Ascension is about Jesus. Jesus ascended into heaven 40 days after Easter by His own power. The Ascension is talked about in the Bible: Acts 1:14; Mark 16:19β€”20, and; Luke 24:50β€”53.

Amen. We need you Lord so that we may have life in abundance πŸ™

𝙇𝙀𝙏 π™π™Ž π˜½π™€ 𝙇𝙄𝙆𝙀 𝙏𝙃𝙀 'π˜½π™π™€π˜Όπ˜Ώ':
π˜½π™π™Šπ™†π™€π™‰, π˜½π™π™ π™Žπ™π™„π™‡π™‡ π˜½π™‡π™€π™Žπ™Žπ™€π˜Ώ.

We are again learning something valuable from the Gospel today. If there's one life-lesson that the Gospel for today has taught me, it would be the idea of being π˜½π™π™Šπ™†π™€π™‰ but still π˜½π™‡π™€π™Žπ™Žπ™€π˜Ώ. At some point of our lives, we all have experienced that kind of brokenness, and God has never failed to make us all new. Through Him, we became more able to be a blessing to other people, that despite our struggles in life; that despite our pains and sufferings, we became one of His instruments.

Truly, the beauty of life can be seen through pains and sufferings, but life is more wonderful through blessedly giving.

Let's give even if we are in pain;
Let's share even if we are taken;
Let's be blessed even if we are broken.

May we not only receive Jesus as the Bread of life, but may we also imitate His goodness and generosity to other people.
