Chapter 1 - Importance of the Study of the Mind - 1

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3, NKJV

The Nicest Work—To deal with minds is the nicest work in which men ever engaged.—MCP1 10.1

To Know the Laws That Govern Mind and Body—It is the duty of every person, for his own sake and for the sake of humanity, to inform himself in regard to the laws of life and conscientiously to obey them. All need to become acquainted with that most wonderful of all organisms, the human body. They should understand the functions of the various organs and the dependence of one upon another for the healthy action of all. They should study the influence of the mind upon the body and of the body upon the mind, and the laws by which they are governed. MCP1 10.2

Train and Discipline the Mind—No matter who you are ... the Lord has blessed you with intellectual faculties capable of vast improvement. Cultivate your talents with persevering earnestness. Train and discipline the mind by study, by observation, by reflection. You cannot meet the mind of God unless you put to use every power. The mental faculties will strengthen and develop if you will go to work in the fear of God, in humility, and with earnest prayer. A resolute purpose will accomplish wonders. MCP1 10.3

Live Life . . . Now

Tuesday | April 14, 2026

Some people live in the past, always looking back at what “used to be” or wishing they could relive past experiences, either to correct their mistakes or just re-experience wonderful memories. Then there are those who live in the future, deciding that when they get the perfect job, find a spouse, have a baby, buy a house, or make a million dollars, then... they will be happy! Waiting for happiness based on some milestone you want to accomplish in the future will only make you miss out on all the joy that surrounds you today. The best way to enjoy this journey here on earth is to live your life now, in the present, deciding to live each day for Jesus! Smell the roses, breathe in fresh air, take in the beauty all around you, and appreciate the many blessings God gives you every day! If you are constantly living in the past or the future, you’ll miss out on everyday pleasures of life that only God can give. God wants you to live as if each day was your last, but plan for the future! There’s a big difference between “waiting” for the future and “planning” for the future. Live life . . .now - in the present - and live your life with Jesus as your example! When you focus on Jesus and never take your eyes off of Him . . . you are planning for your future, which is eternity with Jesus Christ your Lord. Text: Proverbs 16:1-4, 1 Peter 1:3-4, 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1 John 2:6

“Those who reverence the commandments of Jehovah, after light has been given them in reference to the fourth precept of the decalogue, will obey it without questioning the feasibility or convenience of such obedience. God made man in his own image, and then gave him an example of observing the seventh day which he sanctified and made holy.”

What’s behind us is in God’s hands.
What’s ahead is in His purpose.

As this year ends, we choose to release the past—its failures, lessons, and victories—into God’s care. We move forward with faith, trusting that every step ahead is guided by His perfect will.
