As we gather for the 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙙𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤, we joyfully begin the nine-day journey of prayer and anticipation for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. On this same day, 𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 16, the Catholic Church in the Philippines celebrates 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 – 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, a reminder of the Church’s deep love, trust, and hope in the youth, proclaimed by the CBCP since 1986.

Guided by the theme “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴, 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘦” (𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 15:27), we are called not only to listen to God’s Word but to live it out through concrete actions of love, truth, and justice. Amid disasters, corruption, injustice, and the many struggles faced by our people—especially the youth—we are reminded that the Lord walks with us, calling us to be light in the darkness and witnesses of hope, mercy, and genuine love.

We joyfully invite all the youth of St. Joseph the Worker-Salay to take part in this momentous occasion by attending the Holy Mass scheduled at 4:00 AM on December 16, 2025. A special blessing will also be given to all attending youth.

With deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of Dr. Rey Ignacio Cagang, our beloved Parish Coordinating Council Chairperson. He served our parish with unwavering faith, humility, and dedication, always placing the mission of the Church and the good of the community above himself. His leadership and kindness will forever be remembered.

We thank God for the life and service of Dr. Rey, whose legacy of love and selfless service continues to inspire us. May the Lord grant him eternal rest and welcome him into His heavenly kingdom. Our prayers and condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this time of grief.

Haloo Higala!

The PYCC-Salay joyfully participated in the Vocation Jamboree last November 28–29, 2025 at St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral & Pelaez Sports Complex, CDO with the theme:
“Journeying Together, Called in Communion, Sent in Mission” BOKASYON: BUKAS sa MISYON

It was a wonderful journey of faith, friendship, and discovering God’s mission for each of us.
Daghang salamat sa tanan who supported us — from the preparations, transportation, IDs, food, and everything we needed throughout the activity. Your generosity and guidance made this experience possible.
To Rev. Fr. Wilson Legaspi, SSJV, thank you father for allowing us to join this event and for providing the support we needed.

Above all, THANK YOU LORD for Your protection, strength, and the joy shared during the whole journey — safe mi naka-abot ug naka-uli. Truly blessed!
