ARE YOU DRESSED FOR THE WEDDING?
Matthew 22:1–14
A wedding is a special event—a celebration of love. We do not show up casually; instead, we need to be prepared and dressed appropriately. It requires much effort, time, and many other things, and though it lasts only one day, it brings great joy.
Similarly, in our spiritual life, we prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. We must be ready, and invest much effort, time, and sacrifice—because in the twinkling of an eye, it will all be worth it.
As we wait for our Lord’s return, we must accept and wear the garment that the King has prepared. Even if we are present at the wedding, if we are not dressed appropriately, it is the worst position we can ever be in (Matthew 22:11–13). We also need to have "extra oil," because having our name on a church roll does not guarantee heaven. Bringing extra oil means we are truly ready for Christ’s coming.
The Lord’s invitation is for everyone, and He is knocking on our hearts.
Let us ask ourselves:
° Am I ready for the wedding?
° Am I wearing the wedding garment?
° Do I have extra oil while I wait?
