🕊️ PROCAT OF THE DAY
SEPTEMBER: A Month for EVANGELIZATION and CATECHESIS

As we begin September, we celebrate National Catechetical Month in the Philippines, a special time to renew our commitment to proclaim, teach, and live the faith.

Catechesis is more than teaching doctrines or memorizing prayers. It must lead people to encounter Jesus Christ. Evangelii Gaudium reminds us that through Baptism, every Christian is called to be a “missionary disciple” (Pope Francis, 2013, §120). The Directory for Catechesis likewise places catechesis within the Church’s mission of evangelization, helping faith mature and leading people into deeper communion with Christ.

This September, we honor our catechists, but we also remember that the mission belongs to all of us. Parents, teachers, young people, clergy, religious, and lay faithful are called to share the Gospel through both words and the witness of life.

Faith received must become faith shared.
