Today, April 4, 2026, the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Mission Station - Bolo gathered in the hallowed stillness of Black Saturday for the solemn Soledad Procession. This evening was dedicated to the solitary and sorrowful vigil of the Blessed Mother, a time of quiet reflection as the community entered into the mystery of the tomb. The streets were filled with a prayerful hush, illuminated only by the soft, flickering lights of the carrozas that guided the faithful through a path of shared mourning and deep, expectant silence.
Accompanying the Mater Dolorosa were the faithful disciples who stood by the Lord in His final hours, including the pious women of the Passion and Saint John, the beloved apostle. Their presence in the procession served as a moving reminder of the unwavering loyalty and grief of those who remained at the foot of the cross. As the community walked in solidarity with these holy witnesses, the atmosphere remained one of profound reverence, reflecting the quiet strength of a faith that endures even in the shadows of the crucifixion.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the carroza owners whose stewardship and faith allowed the images of the holy women who were disciples of Jesus Christ, Saint John the Evangelist, and his mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, to be brought into our midst once again. Their dedication has provided a visual space for our community to contemplate the strength found in sorrow and the beauty of a devotion that remains steadfast in the darkness. As the procession returned to the sanctuary, the faithful of Bolo retreated into a night of quiet prayer, keeping watch in their hearts for the glorious hope that the coming dawn will bring.
