DECISIONS WE MUST MAKE AS CHRISTIAN

I. WE MUST DECIDE TO SERVE GOD AND NOT IDOLS.


A. Our Base Text: 1 Thess 1:9
This is a fundamental principle of the kingdom: You cannot serve two masters. As Jesus Himself said in Luke 16:13
Serving God requires denying ourselves. Matt 16:24

It means putting God’s will above our own desires, ambition and comforts. John 12:26, Romans 6:6

B. This decision is ours.
No one can make it for us. Like the faithful Thessalonians, we must consciously and consistently choose to abandon all idols and serve the living and true God alone.

II. WE MUST DECIDE TO OBEY GOD AND NOT MEN.



III. WE MUST DECIDE TO HONOR GOD AND NOT THE WORLD



IV. WE MUST DECIDE TO INHERIT HEAVEN AND NOT HELL

A. There is only one way to heaven—Jesus. John 14:6, Matt 7:13-14

B. Our eternity depends on our choices; the decision we make regarding Jesus Christ determines our eternal destination. Jesus Speaks Matt 25:34

C. Let us make the best decisions today—heaven with God.
There is no greater inheritance, no greater joy, nor greater peace than to spend eternity in the presence of our loving God.

Conclusion:
Brother and Sister in Christ, our lives are a summation of the decisions we make. But as Christians we are called to make a unique set of choices—spiritual decisions that will ultimately define our eternity.
